Dude, it all depends on the SCPH model.

    0 is Japanese (NTSC-J),
    1 is American (NTSC-U/C),
    2 is European (PAL),
    3 is Asian (NTSC-J).

(These are all Revision C (3) models)
SCPH-5502 for example, is a PAL PS,
    SCPH-5501 is a NTSC-U/C,
    SCPH-5503 is a NTSC-J.

The SCPH-3500 range was all Revision B (2).
    SCPH-3500 was NTSC-J,

There was only a few Revision A's shipped, but they had FMV skipping issues as well as an S-video port from memory. Very hard to come by. Their hardware was also very easy to get past on the protection for the CD-ROM. This is the SCPH-1000.

The SCPH-7000 series was the same as the 5500 range, but had a different BIOS revision to try and improve the security.

As for PSone, the revision is the same as the SCPH-5500 series.

SCPH-100 is all PSone's (the zero at the end, is of course changed to either a 1,2,3 and 0 again for the country's region)

    SCPH-110 is a PSone controller.

Guaranteed to have a PCB is the PS SCPH-1200 controller...

(NOTE: The PSone is based around he 'hundreds' section)

For your mod chip, make sure your green wire is soldered on to the correct pin. You specified a SCPH-102 model so here is a image to the pinouts for the console.

Make sure, you know where pin 1 is. ALWAYS, next to the 'bump' on most any chip...

Here is a pinout guide for a V2 model.

There are several modchips for the PSone
    Stealth 2.8
    MultiMode 2
    MultiMode 3
    ONEchip

The ONEchip is the only one that works with SCPH-102, the reason is that it has a BIOS patch, this allows the boot of import games without the need of a bootdisc.
the other 3 modchips will need a bootdisc for import games.
The Diagram above is for a classic 4 wire install, which tells me the chip is NON-Stealth, and will not boot imports.

But his is booting copied games.

    It is not reading originals.

Just from memory where I read somewhere, this was because of the green wire. Dunno what pin, but I will look it up now...

some chip require pin 5 on the chip not to be connected, but require to link point 5 on the board to another point on the board to enable Retail Games to boot,
If the install was correct with the ONEchip then he should have any problems, unless it was another modchip and needs to link point 5.
