Hi, I'm a new user, but I've lurked this forum for almost ten years. English is not my native language, sorry about any grammar mistakes. I've got two questions: 1) Does it exist a PSOne (slim Ps1) Debug-Test? 2)I'd like to buy a Ps2 Slim debug unit, I've got this serial numbers: DTL-H90000A DTL-H70011S DTL-H75000A but I know it isn't a complete list. Can you help me to complete the list? 3)How can I change the title to add "Ps2 Slim debug unit serial numbers list"? Thanks in advance
if your looking to buy go to the willing to buy section and you can also ask your question there aswell
Thanks a lot for your fast reply, but I'm not willing to buy here. I've posted here because it's a "general info" related to "Sony Programming and Development" and I've seen here this thread similar to mine: "The many unusual types of TEST ps2." But if it is the wrong section I apologize, fell free to move my thread or tell me how to do by myself.
2)I'd like to buy a Ps2 Slim debug unit, I've got this serial numbers: DTL-H90000A DTL-H70011S DTL-H75000A if your looking to buy those models go here https://assemblergames.com/forums/want-to-buy-requests-wtb.75/ and yes this is general discussion but since your looking to buy those models you can put willing to buy these DTL-H90000A DTL-H70011S DTL-H75000A also ask about ps1 stuff and refer to buy a slim model if there is one for the ps1 also im not a mod or admin so they would have to move it
Thank you, but mine it is a question: Does it exists a Slim Ps1 debug unit? But maybe you're right, I've got no answer so it must be the wrong section of the forum. I'm waiting for a mod to move this "question".
I don't think they exist, I've never seen one and by the time the PS One showed up, Sony as well as studios had a stockpile of the DTL-H1000/DTL-H1001/DTL-H1200 (mostly the later model) to dispose of, they wouldn't need to produce a slim model of it.
I've not ever seen a psone based debug, but I believe the retail psone uses the updated chipset from namco system 10/12. Which can be clocked at 100mhz and I think it can access 16mb of ram, I have a vague feeling there were some other timing changes too. So they probably should have had a slim debug. If I had the equipment for surface mount then I'd be upgrading the ram & vram on psone and adding serial and some form of parallel debug cable. Maybe even do a 100mhz mod.
The original PSone release used the same set of chips as the SCPH-750x and SCPH-900x (CXD8606 CPU, CXD8561 GPU, CXD2938 CD/SPU), Later models replaced the CD/SPU chip with CXD2941 (has integrated SPU work RAM) and later replaced the GPU with a CXD9500 (internal SGRAM). I have been told that the last version of the PM41(2) had the main system ram integrated into the CPU, but I've never personally seen that.
So nobody has ever seen a PSone debug unit, thanks a lot for you answers guys! I've moved this topic here: https://assemblergames.com/threads/...ps2-slim-debug-test-serial-number-list.66738/
I've heard there was a PSOne Debugging Station that came in an ordinary retail box and looked identical to the standard retail unit. There was one advertised on eBay a while ago from this seller: https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/justanothertechie but I believe it never sold. His reasoning for it being a development system was it played all region and CD-R backups fine but the original warranty sticker was untouched / was not voided. No DTL code or anything fancy, unfortunately he wanted something like $400AUD for it and with there being no way to verify if it was genuine it didn't sell.
