psone with mayumi v4.0 - read backups but not other regions

Hi everyone, I have this pal psone (SCPH-10x (PM-41 2 A) and having some 12f629pics I decided to program one with this code and mod it.

Now read pal originals and pal backups, but not other regions.

why? Shouldn't have to read everything? someone could help?

 

Normally it would be able to, but the SCPH-102 has a territory check in the boot ROM - there is a special mod chip (ONEchip) specifically for the SCPH-102 that has a patch for this.

SCPH-100 (Japanese market) has a similar lockout, but for Japanese disc only. SCPH-101 and SCPH-103 don't have this check and will boot any region.

The original ONEchip was 508/509 - I'm not aware of a 12F629 port of it, although I'm pretty sure one could be made.

 

Well at least this confirms that my 12F629 port of Mayumi v4 works in a 102... I would have liked to port the OneChip code to work on 12F629 but I do not have a 102 nor is it easy to come across in my native NTSC territory.

 

yes it works perfectly with pal backups, great work!

if shipping to canada would not be so expensive I will send it to you to test, here in italy pal psones have really no value at all....
