good, but then sony will release version 2.5 that will correct the hole making the exploit doable, and you won't be able to play new games without it. Then you say ''i don't care, i just want homebrew, comercial games on psp can go to hell, i already own a ps2! '' but then this killer app will be released and you'll want to buy it. Then they'll make a downgrader for 2.5 to 1.50, but sony will release 3.0 and blablabla.... Sad that the community can't win.
I don't trust it... :ayashi Although I've already returned my 1.52 PSP for a brand new 1.50 one (I gave the dead pixels excuse :smt082)
Plenty of people are reporting succesful downgrades, but I would still wait a few day's before trying it. I know what you mean Cahaz, all they need to do is something simple like changing a filename in their new version firmware (eg: prx.bin to prxbin.bin) and make game developers use that version of the filename. The game will refuse to load on anything other than the legit new firmware, obviously they would need to implement proper code changes rather than just name changes, but you get my point.
Does anyone know what region PSPs this works on? I don't see how they can make a downgrade, unless they have 1.50 software. That could probably mean they used the Japanese 1.50 update file, since US PSPs came pre-installed with 1.50.
Its for all 2.0 PSPs. An exploit was found a few days ago to get homebrew working on them, but its not a very user friendly method currently, and almost none of the homebrew available has been set up to work with it yet. Hence why for the time being a downgrader makes sense.
But then Sony wins by getting money heh, but at the same time they lose...wierd hehe Good to know if i decide to buy a white psp...
The only reason is because the "community" devote alot of their time to play copied games. So sony has no other choice but to stop it.
Don't worry, it works. I as well as many others have had success with the downgrader. It's scary the first time you do it but it all works out in the end.
comunity CAN win, is possible to play 2.0 games on 1.5 with some programs, so everyone will go down to 1.5 and the scene will be huge!!!!
and i thought people said it was impossible to downgrade..ha!..never underestimate the homebrewerers'....
I took the plunge..worked great. Must say it is a real kick to have all these new abilities of the 1.5 hack
I need to try this out. Has anyone had any problems with this downgrade? Just curious to see how many people tried this and ran into issues. ^_^_^
Can I upgrade and downgrade as often as I want? I got 1.5 now, via downgrade, but I want my web browser too.
