my psp is too fragile to go on the road, therefore, it looks pretty on the coffee table collecting dust. The games are too expensive, especially when they are mostly rehashes of ps2 games. The DS, like the gameboy, is actually portable. I can throw it in my backpack with the confidence that it will make the trip just fine. Now, if only I could get a play-yan and and GB micro.
Ouch the numbers in this poll dont lie.The DS had a strong last 6 months in terms of good releases. It goes back to Nintendos business plan its all about the games.
I have none of them right now, so i won't vote, but what i can say is that i will buy a DS for sure. I will certainly own a psp one of these days too, but that won't be in the next couple of months (20+) for sure . Same here. If you own a psp just for homebrew, emulation, Mp3s and Divx movies, then i think you're better with this thing. Better community, Cheaper, Cheap memory cards, 4:3 screen and a Digital Joystiq. it's just suited perfectly for these kind of things.
If it's true, then how much do GP2Xs cost brand new? I'd be happy to sell my newish PSP (not trade) for a GP2X, since all I do on it is emulation.
I have both, and I haven't touched the PSP in 2+ months. The DS, on the other hand, is played almost daily
Its $190, so you'll make a small profit. That also comes with more memory than the PSP value pack at 64mb, but you'll still want a bigger card. Fortunately it uses SD/MMC rather than pricy memory sticks
That's good to hear! I have a 1 GB SD memory card laying around somewhere with my digital camera. I would sell my PSP, but I received it as a present, so that's still undecided.
www.gp32x.com If you want more informations about the gp2x, here's a good place. Units can now be softclocked to 260mhz (per core), and someone even overclocked it to 320mhz. Quake 2 can runs smoothly , and very playable psx emulators are on their way. All this while The unit isnt even officially released yet.
Well having owned both from their respective launch days i can say that for me the DS is deffinitly the most played, games like mariokart, sonic rish, castlevania and advance wars do it for me. The PSP isn't bad by any means but playing gta:LC on it and having the batteries drained after 2 hours isn't my idwa of on the road gaming plus it's soo damned fragile compared to the sturdy DS.
its hard to say, they stole about 200 ps2 and xbox games, two halo xbox systems(one sealed),a ps2,psp,ds,ipod,laptop,popcorn,cream corn and toilet paper.im glad to know they also needed home goods along with all those games!
As the systems are "intended", the DS is better. However when you factor in homebrew on the PSP, it's just unmatched. I bought a gig memory stick, and a copy of Monkey Island 3 from Fry's recently, and it's stuff like that that makes me love my PSP.
Have both, but barely touch my DS at all. Tried homebrew on it when I first got it, but that was about it. Other than that I played some GBA games (since the screen was better than the front lit SP) and recently, a little Mario Kart multiplayer. As much as everyone likes Mario Kart, I'm not a huge fan, much more a fan of the midnight club racing. There aren't any DS titles yet that are must have for me, though I'm looking forward to the New Mario Bros. PSP on the other hand, despite having few games, the games it does have that I like, I REALLY like! Grand Theft Auto LCS! The screen is also sooo nice too! small screens were fine before, but since the PSP, they just can't compare!
