as for digi pad, I guess as shitty as all the previous models felt (sony never learned from its mistakes) -> sheer impossible to play 2D games. and since the analog stick, which was the only appreciating thing (at least for 3D games), is now displaced to the middle, it seems that the controls gotten even worse.

while the first models quite appealed to me regarding their forms and shapes, this one looks way to clumsy and ballooned like a flounder.

    This.

About the only good thing I could see is when the firmware gets cracked it would be a really nice portable emulator. My PSP 1000 will get me by for now though.

Sweet, thanks for sharing the pics!

Anyway I can't say I'm excited about it, as many had said the non-physical media can be a fatal flaw.

Actually I haven't downloaded any free PSP games to mine. Especially since I can just rent games for free from work, and when I buy they are usually 10-20% off.
One memory stick is just full of DOSBox stuff, another has a Genesis and SNES emulator with a couple ROMs, and the last one just has a few of my PS1 games I've ripped and converted.

I'm pretty intrested in how Sony wants to handle this UMD to Digital Converter or whatever they plan to do with people who have a big ass UMD collection.

My thoughts exactly. I never understood why people gushed over PSP emulators, since almost any 2D game is impossible to play because the D-pad sucks balls.

The Dig Pad on the PSP 2k is good enough for 2D games. Far better then the horible crap of the 1K but more then good enough to play fighers.

Also i've heard a few hands on from e3 that say the analog is actualy better and feels more natural since it's placement makes it feel more akin to ps1/2.

Anyways I'm just currious to hear hands on from people who have used a unit. I'm still waiting to someone find a way to get my grubby hands on one.

That looks really cool. I'm really surprised subbie hasn't gotten his hands on one though. I'd like to get one, but the launch price seems ridiculously overpriced like everything else Sony makes.

It looks cool, but i dont think the idea of non phisical media will catch on with the general public, atleast not for a while, I was reading on qj that i think france it was? some stores were refusing to stock these ebcause they thought the non phisical media wouldnd catch on.

Im not saying its not a good idea, but i like the feel of opening a new game and having the case and manual to look at while im taking a shit.

Still i may buy one as more of a novelty item to have.

I think if they made the PSN titles downloadble/playable on the PSP Go! a lot of people would pick one up.

Yeah I wish I had my grubby monkey hands on one already. Work seems to have one somewhere (no clue which studio) but sadly it isn't in the montreal one. :-(

I think it will better then people realise. The question is more of cost then willingness to take digital downloads over physical media.

Confused? All PSP PSN titles are downloadable and playable on the Go. This is a PSP after all and all future titles from oct1 will be on the store with a few exceptions. If someone has an exsisting psp/psn account, you can still use that account on the go since you can have 5 psp devices registered to a single psn account. =)

I'm talking about the PS3 titles like Fat Princess, and Pixeljunk Eden. Port more of them to PSP and a lot of people would bite. Oh ya, and I know some games can be played using remote play but some people might not own a PS3 or there isn't a wireless connection available.

Fat Princess is PSP bound later this year. Pixel Junk eden might be comming. PSP is exspecting Pixel Junk Monster sometime this year (August/September).

Sony actually has been trying to get PS3 devs to bring their PSN games over to the PSP as well. I'm sure we will see more news on this later this year. We still haven't had the Game Convention in Europe (august) and Tokyo Game Show.

Yep I know, I linked to it ;-) I hope all the PS3 devs get on board for PSP, maybe even have discounts for those who bought the PS3 version.

yup, apparently "GIVE US A 2ND ANALOG STICK" sounds like "GIVE US A 2ND PROPRIETARY MEMORY STICK FORMAT INSTEAD OF USEING SD MEMORY LIKE EVERYONE WANTS" in sony's ears.

    /facepalm
