    Hi,

    regarding on the guide from kev: http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/psy-q-cd-emulator-setup-and-tech-info.10144/
    I like to setup my cd emu board on a h2500. The docs say it was made for the h2000. But the h2500 also have the connector. So i think its np to use it on a h2500? Im not sure, and dont like to destroy anything.
    Here a shot from the CD-Emulator system V1.2:

    The attached ribbon cable goes to the h2500 connector:

    Another point not clear to me is the datakey dongle on the external SCSI port? What was it used for?
    So on my understanding its np to use the cd emu board with the h2510 depending on witch bios i load?

    From what I can remember, the same CD emulation card is supported on all the development cards from the DTL-H2000 to the DTL-H2700.

    As for the dongle, it shouldn't be there - it plugs into the LPT port. My guess is that someone just plugged it into that adapter so they didn't lose it.

    You probably already know this, but the emulator will do nothing until you have a correctly initialized SCSI HDD hooked up with a boot partition on it - the EPROM is just a bootloader and the actual run-time code is loaded from disc.

    I have a bunch of backup discs with a lot of that old stuff on them - I will see if I can find them.

    Try to get a 50 pin SCSI - I HDD (still avaliable on ebay) + cable and plug it to the emu card.
    You will need the following SDK components to make it work:
    BINARIES
    ========
    bcdflat.exe 2.41 BETA version of flat model for buildcd.
    buildcd.exe 2.41 Build image program
    ccs2cti.exe 1.10 CCS (cdgen output) to CTI file converter.
    Cdbios.com 1.04 Emulator board communication driver.
    Cddisk.exe 1.17 Emulator HD disk utility
    cdemuprm.exe 1.00 Allows you to select normal or zero seek timings; andalso control errors within CD streams. Both settings are unaffected by RESETPS (which causes the CD emulator's micro controller to reload CDBOOT from the SCSI HD). Requires at least CDBOOT35/CDBOOT65.
    cdmon.com 1.03 TSR program for debugging.
    cti2cd.exe 1.03 beta Bug fix for Yamaha audio track cutting.
    Cutcd.exe 1.02 beta YAM CDR100/SONY CDW900E cutter utility from CD emulator image.
    Gencti.exe 1.0 beta GenCTI generates a ".cti" file based on the directory structure on your PC.
    dos4gw.exe 1.97 Dos extender (for bcdflat)
    multicd.exe 1.01 Multi CD emulator Utility. Allows simulation of CD emulator image changing and door opening.
    updatecd.exe 1.18 Update the build image utility.

    BOOT FILES
    ============
    CBOOT36.bin 3.6 Emulator Boot code.
    CDNOSK3x.bin DELETED For old timers: The reason there is
    no CDNOSK3x.BIN any more is that, with
    the advent of version CDBOOT3.6, the seek
    timings are now programmable using the
    utility called CDEMUPRM.
    cdboot66.bin 6.6 Emulator Boot code, identical to version
    36.bin, except that version 6.6 reports
    information back to the PC so that the PC
    can show the current CD activity on screen.
    This is achieved with the use of the
    CDMON.COM TSR.
    DOCUMENTATION
    ===============
    cdemul.pdf - CD Emulator Manual
    readme.doc 1.13.2 Installation and tutorial.

    The same hardware and software will work for H2000 as well.
    The emu connectors on H2000 and H2500 are exactly the same.
    Thanks for helping me assembling the H2010 cable sometime ago!

    Im playing around with the CD-Emu and find out that Datakey is for using h25bios from the PSY-Q SDK.
    Installing a hdd on the emu was np with CDDISK:

    I think if you want to use DEXBIOS with the emu its np, but with h25bios you need that datakey/dongle.

    DEXBIOS is for the H2000.
    You're using the DOS CDEMU tools?

    of corse it is, but im testing with h2500, so im not sure the dongle is only for "h2500 psy-q bios" maybe? Or is the board complete useless without the datakey...
    Yes the dos cdemu tools, first playing around :)

    There's h25drv and the DECI utility too, no?

    No h25drv did not work, i have to use h25bios, but i can also add the h25bios from SN or psy-q lib.

    Also found a silver sony floppy. Next step will be adding the controller deck to a 5 1/4" Bay:
