Is that the promo or the demo disc? Because I have the Transformers demo in almost exactly the same packaging.
The US does have promos, but they aren't used for press, so they're not as common. US Promos are usually identical to retail with the words "Not for Sale" printed on the disc or cart. There are some promo specific builds (such as the DK64 promo cart) but these are the exception rather than the rule. Other times US Promos will be actual retail copies with the UPC label sliced/punched/destroyed. Sony US also manufactured "Trade Demos" which come in a white cardboard slipcover and have the game disc inside. These are usually retail code (or sometimes release candidate) though the disc will have no artwork aside from "Trade Demo" and the game name in text. Sega US used to do something similar for the Saturn. In short, US Promos are out there, you just need to know what to look for when searching for them. -hl718
Yes, there're two version of Resistance 2. White label (retail disc) = more common was given to people and Blue label (review disc) = never seen one except mine and was given to press.
i want this resistance 2 review disc...tell me the price..ahhhhhhhhhhh i love res 2 and i am playing it in a clan called DMX
Promos other region I think so. probably promos designed specially only on PAL region. I' ve seen some website for NTSC-U/C Demos only, but never seen promos before. Japanese (SCEJ, 1994-) and Chinese (SCEH, 2003-) promos are same as products basically. just added orange " Sample, for promotions only " sticker on inlay and printed " SAMPLE " (PS1) or " SAMPLE LOANED " (PS2/PSP) letter on the disc. maybe same format in South Korea (SCEK, 2002-) it' s NTSC-J area.
its the full game (i think, havent played all the way thru - only like 4-5stages) so i dont think its a demo?
Hmmm I might. If I remember correctly the "white" one sold about a year and half or so on ebay for around 150 GBP and a fact that it's more common as it's been given to people or preorder or was limited edition and mine was given for magazine review I would ask 200 GBP which include insured shipment around Europe. And to the topic here is a NFR colection from Sega. Originaly included 3 NFR (blue label) disc and a press disc.
Wow. That one's pretty awesome. I got a promo copy of Devil May Cry 2 (has a cardboard box around the DVD cover, which has a special LEVIS design thingy-ma-jig. Sounds more exciting than it is.) Also have a pile of promos for other games, but none really that interesting... other than the The Getaway box I have. Picked it up on Ebay a few years back for £20 or something. Huge metal box with a "London A-Z" book w/post-it note attached to it, a press-kit CD for one of the games and 3 game discs (Demo for the first one, promo for the first one and promo for the second one. Guess only the first one belongs and the others were slammed in for fun or something) I know I took some pictures of it earlier... *Darn! They're offline. I'll see if I can grab new ones later if anyone wanna see*
hi guys, you know these PS1 promos with black discs, right? well i just found a PS1 disc that´s said to be a promo but it´s white like a Dreamcast promo but with the PS logo on it?! anyone knows something about such a disc?
Ahah. Was about to ask if it was a SquareSoft disc. (I have seen two types of "bright/white" ones, all of which have been from SquareSoft) (Personally, I have two different Saga Frontier II discs + a Parasite Eve 2 - Disc 2)
