hi there, i didnt really paid attention to the ON video. I just finished to read the 1up article, and i must say that im amazed by the guy work . Is there anybody here who followed the ON video history enough to tell me when it was released? Im just curious.
If i remember correctly he made it in a week or so prior to e3 2005, if thats what you mean, many regarded as official, though the mario at the end looked weird Ryan
yeah, everything is impressive, apart of the characters models. anyway, while i was watching it complety for the first time today, i found something in the videothat remembered me another, but i wasnt sure of what it was, or where i saw it . am i the only one who see this TV: http://cubemedia.ign.com/cube/image/article/651/651275/hands-on-the-revolution-controller-20050915054952269.jpg at the end of the third minute in the backround of the video? http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3141783
do you refer to the shiloutte in the background of where the helmet is? all i can see is this <a href="http://img428.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot0574sk.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://img428.imageshack.us/img428/1532/screenshot0574sk.th.png" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a> is that what you refer to?
yeah, isnt that looking exactly like the TV in the image? a clear color rectangle (possibly 16:9) with a dark border, and all.. just check the details of the tv, and compare.
It's that video that some dude released before E3...it basically suggested that Nintendo's new console was going to be a head mounted display.... But (in case it wasn't obvious) it was debunked as fake pretty quickly. Nintendo had not a thing to do with it.
though Reggie right at the end of the Nintendo E3 presentation said something cryptic (just to spurn more rumours surely). from what I remember reading the last statement he made when talking about the Revoution was 'get ready to use the left side of your brain' (or was it right side?), which is a direct refference to what was shown on the ON footage. unless Nintendo had previously made refference to this themselves. it's of little consequence, but interesting in any case.
True Assembler, but this IS nintendo afterall, its been known to expect the unexpected, they also said PDA games using a touch screen was a joke.....
touchè Nintendo want to break the mold. if and when innovation pays off it's a blessing for all gamers. I'm not looking foward to the prospect of using a remote control to play my games but there you go. playing with a remote control.. and that's not even a sarcastic derision either.. it is a remote control
but what a lovely remote control it is! anyway, it seems like others saw strange reflections in the video: I dont want to start a "OMG! teh ON is real!!" , because it wont happen for sure, i just find it quite strange.
The reflection was eh for me, but some of the others (on both sides) do raise interesting points... Edit: Its kind of funny that when searching for nintendo on on google, one of the things it says is: See results for: nintendo revolution As a correction heh. Funny funny funny o_o
no. I think the reality is this: this stunt was probably commisioned by Nintendo just to fuel rumour. the maker of the footage probably had access to the images shown at E3 and was able to manipulate them to fit his vision of what the revolution could (but will not) look like. I just think it's spin and Nintendo is behind it albeit at the farthest, most remote end.
that is be plausible, because there's alot of little things in the video that are just too close to reality to be coinsidences of luck, but the "ON" seems to be way too unrealistic, and goes in the opposite direction of where nintendo is heading. (simplicity of use, apeal to non gamers, cheap,...)
