What are the easiest ways to determine if a kit is a beta1/beta2/final kit? What is the lowest revision that beta kits can't run? That is to say, as long as the dash is above XXXX.X it can't be a beta kit. Did beta kits ever have HDMI or were they all xenons? Any other obvious ways to tell?
Beta kit normally refers to XeDk, which mean they are Xenon. XedK1 have *grey sidecar too. XedK2 have grey sidecar. Same for the beta kit. Xedk1 can't run actual xex. (even dev one). Edit : Only Prototype XeDk have black sidecar and different faceplate.
All Xenon Dev Kit have Grey sidecar. If it's Black case with white sidecar, it's most likely a modded kit.
@ OP XeDK beta 1 consoles are all xenon motherboards with black cases with or without black sidecars. They also have prototype faceplates that are all black and have usb cover doors. They are on beta recoveries only. XeDK beta 2 consoles are all xenon motherboards with white cases with or without white or grey sidecars. They also have prototype faceplates that are white with black usb cover doors. The cases usually have a prototype sticker on them. They are also on beta recoveries only.
You don't say ? WHITE CASE + BLACK SIDECAR = Not sold by Microsoft. That's my point. XeDK beta 1 : XeDK Beta 2 :
Ok. Cool. So the main indicator of a beta kit is the faceplate with rubber USB cover and no HDMI as they were all Xenon. You guys rock!
XeDK stands for Xenon Development Kit. It probably refers to the codename of the console in this case but since there's no other revision beside Xenon for the first batch, yes, they are all Xenon. Right. You have to be look closely to those details. Here's some help for the "beta recoveries" : http://www.free60.org/XDK_Kernel Concerning stickers, they could be fake so pays attention.
That link is absolute nonsense. Beta-2 kits cant go any higher than the hacked recovery for 9328 and Beta-1s cant manage that due to hardware limitations. Quit trying to one up everyone when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. And why the hell would anyone put a sticker on a final kit and try to pass it off as a XeDK? Thats basically calling it worthless.
