I recently tracked down an unreleased xbox game which shall remain nameless. (Only because it took me like 10 minutes to track down someone with a copy, and I don't want it to get sniped! ) However, according to the gentleman who has it, it ONLY works on the ugly clear green xboxes. MY question is this, can the prototype be ripped using dvd2xbox, even if it can't be played? I'd like to put it into disribution as soon as I get it, but I don't want to waste my time or get my hopes up if my home setup isn't able to rip it. My goal is to get it copied and online for others. I figure from there there's got to be someone out there that can fix it to work on retail systems, or if not there's a handful of people around here with the ugly green xbox that could get it running. Info anyone?
if on a burned disc, any pc dvd drive can read it, then you can use something like quix or other x1 iso tool of choice. UGLY green? say that to my stack of em....
Sorry, I just think the xbox innards look so.... plain & boring. Kinda like looking in a PC from the 96-99 era.
Yeah, as khold said, a DVD drive works fine. So long as the game doesnt require 128mb of ram, it should work fine on a modded system with minimal or no effort.
Boards prior to the final, 1.6 revision, yes. The ram can be taken from other Xboxes. Need an extremely steady hand to do it though.
