What's the difference between Daytona USA 2 and Saytona USA 2001?

Daytona 2 was on the Japanese release dates for quite some time but then it suddenly vanished without a trace. Some people say that it was going to be ported to the XBOX but since then there has been no word on an XBOX version too.

meh me got confused with 2 and 2001...

  6. Cool, so with that many copies of Daytona 2 kicking around, it's gonna be ripped and released I assume? Gutted I missed the Ebay auction.

And the same with Flintstones (no point if it's that shite tho).

So, now we just have to find english version of Sakura Taisen. So, anyone know any current/ex console mag employees who would know if WL copies were distributed for review? Surely Wyte must know more about this?

hl718 can back me up on this, but there was never a Sakura Wars DC game translated officially. . .at least in the US. Now, whatever Europe does its its own thing but most of the time they just took US translated games and added the letter "u" here and there. . .i.e . Shenmue II.

I'd like to see someone prove me wrong though. . .

If you couldn't guess, that's me up there. . .Altus and Working Designs have been known to pick up SEGA games now and again :)

On a side note, I recal an MMORPG that someone was working on for SEGA for the DC around the same time Sakura was being looked at for possible release. . .I forget its name, but I'm sure there is info about it out there. . .

Yeah, that's the one :D Someone should try and get their hands on that code. . .

Point being, I was just giving a sense of time for when I remember Sakura. . .btw, the reason I was told it was passed over is because A) translation would be too involved since there were many Japanese (including J-pop) references and jokes and B) overall, it was too strange of a blend of genres. . .if you know the SW story line I'm sure it'd be great. . .but that's like 10 people or so that know it and speak English. . .so there ya go. . .it also didn't help that Skies sold poorly :(

I actually remember having a chat with one of the heads of translation about it years ago, oddly enough.
