Quite possibly the best place to get old video games today!

Anyone ever been to Play and Trade? It's a chain, (I go to the one in Walpole, MA.) Their stuff is sick! Atari 2600s for $10, and games for $1.99! Boxed Intellivision for $4.99. I believe they have Genesis stuff, lots of SNES, a good amount of N64 and even some 6th generation stuff. Now imagine finding a copy of Quadrun in the $1.99 bin....

Errr, no, considering I live some 4000 miles away. Thanks for the tip though.

I'd be more willing to pay attention to a testimonial from a more established user. Says the guy with less than 200 posts. :)

Play N Trade are not a chain as such - they are a franchise business and so results WILL vary between shops.

Their website is: http://www.playntrade.com/ if you're interested.

Is one able to buy and sell from the website? I can't tell since nearly every link on the page is embedded in Flash code.

I went to a similar place named Vintage Stock.

I swear to God, their application form must have a question saying "How much of an elitist smug asshole can you be?"

    They over priced everything though.

I went in there once asking for Rhapsody and they laughed at me, and said "Duuuude. That game is IMPOSSIBLE to find, hahahahaha, I can't believe you even ASKED for it"

This was before the reprint. They also were trying to sell GTA: SA (The M rated version) for $100 because it would soon be "Rare".

Not sure what the point of the original post was. Play N Trade is just another new and used game chain and doesn't specialize in classic or rare stuff. In fact, given that many of the stores are franchised and probably owned by hard core gamers or people very interested in games (or people who visit Ebay and know how to do a search), I believe the chances of finding something rare for cheap is pretty low.

If I'm going to talk up a store, I would talk about what I actually bought there. Also, that kind of discussion generally occurs more often on CheapAssGamer, which its focus on bargain hunting and non-national stores.

Any competition for the GameStop monopoly is welcomed here. I hate those guys.

There was a Play N Trade near me down in S.W. Florida, but it closed up about a week back. They had a few old things, but nothing really noticable.

This is one near Tampa? Actually, now that I think about there were about a half dozen near Tampa, so neither description is precise enough. :)

There's one in Orlando, one outside of Daytona and one somewhere in Brunswick. I might visit one (or more) next week, and if I do I'll report back the amount of crookedness observed. :)

You guys should take pictures of places like these. Whenever Yakumo released those videos inside japanese stores, it was so cool.

It was an opportunity for all of us to have an experience like that.

I'm planning on taking pics of some game stores down here. It won't be anything exciting, but it's cool anyway.
