You do realise, my friend, that Garlo and I are the only people in this forum that will truly understand and appreciate your rant?

That being said, you are right, mostly. Enchiladas do have lettuce, and so do "tacos arabes" - which are, I know, our mexican pirated version of Shawarma, but are still pretty good.

Hey, I'm a taco aficionado as well. Nothing like the getting the real thing, as opposed to the "Americanized" version.

Real tacos are sort of boring compared to the american fat fest.

I've had real tacos and they were bland as fuck, and I was hungry as hell still.

OK, I'll join in. SHEPHERD'S PIE DOES NOT CONTAIN BEEF!

Cottage Pie is beef. Shepherd's Pie is ground lamb.

    I'll add one.

WHY THE **** DOES CARNITAS (Pork) NOT EXIST IN CANADA?!?.. Seriously why are the only Mexican burrito you can get either bad beef or chicken. Hell even tamales don't seem very common (there is one place near my house that makes them but they are very so so).

Man, I miss the Mexican food back home (southern California).

    mmmm lamb.

I had shrimp fajitas. Shit was sooo delicious. I had tacos with just cilantro and onions. It was also very delicious. I'm a glutten, so I could eat that stuff all day.

Anyone traveling to Puerto Rico should have pork pinchos. It's just pork that's barbequed in a special seasoned sauce. Tastes soo good.

But yeah, America has been desensitized with foods from other countries.

Ever had real chinese food? It's alright, but VERY different than the chinese take-out you get.

Depends where it's from. There is a huge difference between Northern Food & commonly found Cantonese/HK food.

Real Northern food is damn good and spicy (I spent a month in china).

    Southern seafood scares me. :crying:

I've had Mexican tacos before (or, at least, tacos from Mexican restaurants). I find them to be sort of meh...

I'll have my taco with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and hot sauce.

I'll add to that: SHEPHERD'S PIE AND COTTAGE PIE ARE NOT SERVED IN A SHORTCRUST OR PUFF PASTRY!

Everyone sensible knows that it is topped with mashed potato. I've definitely heard a case from an American friend about how, when ordering a shepherd's pie in an English pub in Ohio, was served a minced beef and onion pie.

    ALSO, NO FRIGGING CHEESE!

    That's right, you're from L.A.

Unofficially, you live in Mexico. There are more mexicans in L.A. than in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, actually - so yeah, you too would get the Taco Rant.

That being said... Tacos really aren't my favourite food at all, and yeah, there are places with really "meh" tacos; they' are the majority, even down here.

And yes, Home Made Flour Tortillas are FUCKING godly.

I love Taco Bell. Yes, I'm a consumer whore. But a skinny one.

That being said, I eat at little family-owned Mexican restaurants all the time (there's a million in my city) (ohhhh fuck, I love proper tortillas!), and even go out of my way to eat at taco campers in parking lots on north Broadway.

??? speak for your region. Tacos with lettuce, cabbage (at least baja), pico or crema etc aren't even that rare lol. Who wants a taco when you can get a torta w/ everything anyway? :p
