    Next !

Well done ! I think it's getting more and more usual nowadays for him to sign some items. Same things with Kojima. It's nice to see eBay is not flooded with tons of.

I might have access to him again and the ultimate plan is to have my Virtual Boy signed. Once again, he's not that related to it but I think having the red monster with his seal would make happy for a while.

I'm not sure - I think it might depreciate it rather than appreciate it, unless it's somewhere inconspicuous.

    Right !

He has two kind of signature. The regular one and the one with Mario's head (very rare). Never heard of someone who left with a Link :) this would be such a life achievement ;)

In the sports and entertainment fileds it is always best to have someone sign a common item in good condition.

I tend to agree in games it should be the same. An original NES deck, or original BW gboy,or common NES Zelda cart would jump in value quite a bit with a Miyamoto signature. Make sure the item is in top shape.

I also think these are the coolest items to have signed. These are the items everyone knows and if you show them to non collectors they will get a biggest kick out of a signed item they can relate to.

There are exceptions. One example might be an early Apple game with a generic and easy to fake label. A signed Akalabeth by Lord British might increase the value if only because it tends to prove it is a real copy.

Another exception would be for a cult following game like Snatcher.

If the person is no longer with us then the autograph might be desirable on just about anything how about a Dana Plato signed copy of Night Trap or a signed Infocom Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy.

Even with these exceptions if you have a $5 game and a $100 game and only have 1 signed you are much better off getting the $5 item signed if it is in nice shape. Never get an item in crappy condition signed. No one wants to show that off and the person may be embarassed to put his name on it.

Talking of shame, when Miyamoto was still doing his signatures to promote the Zelda: MC release at the Nintendo World Store, he was asked to sign a PSP.

Couldn't think of a more awkward situation.

I know there are things he just won't sign bootleg Nintendo products being the most common item turned away. I wonder if he signed the PSP.

Now you've gotten me wondering... what an odd thing to do? I would think he would sign it. What does everything else think? Anyone know the story here?
Gosh now I really wanna know...

    Regards,

Shit if some twerp wanted my signature in a poorly chinese-made bootleg of MY game I would kick his ass right there, or get the security thugs to throw him to the gutter.

The fact he (I suppose) politely tells people he won't sign a bootleg is a very good reaction to whats basically an insult.

To have a original GT2000 disc with the sleeve cover signed by Kazunori Yamauchi... Now that would be cool!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here but I really believe the reason Mr. Miyamoto signed my Yoshi Island cart the way he did back in 1996 was because I don't think anyone has EVER asked him to sign his name before. But I could be wrong - unless someone can produce me a Shigeru Miyamoto signature w/ a drawing earlier than 1996

Someone offering Shigeru Miyamoto a PSP to sign is probably not an affluent video gamer. Seriously, WHY would you insult a game designer by presenting him a competitors hardware / software to sign ??? As a gamer, I believe its considered disrespectful due to the lack of recognition of the game designer's work.

It would be much respectful if they didn't have something relavent to sign. Either ask for a picture to be taken or him / her
sign a blank piece of paper.

Yeah, the one who really is related to it, is not able to sign it anymore since more than a decade ago.
Let that monster sign by shigi, seems to be kinda blasphemy, not?

I don't have any pics for you but I know an old school journalist that interviewed him 20-30+ times. Each time he went he asked him to sign a game for him and many of these pre-date the date your SNES cart.

Amazingly he is also one who told me Miyamoto refused to sign his bootlegs!

Did you ask him about the C92 locomotives? :) Would be interesting to hear how many have found out about it before you, at least in the post-PC-Engine era.
