Well i can finally cross off one of the rare games im after, someone on the other forum i hang out on was selling coropata for a unbelivably cheap price of £8 & it was like new condition, he obviously didn't know how hard it was to get hold of. The only other copy i can find that has it for sale is on ebay & thats listed at $159 & they are just listed at very good condition with a stock photo.

Unlike the regular reason where a game ends up rare because it was rubbish & nobody bought it, this game is really fun & challenging so most people seem to want to hold onto it.

Now if i could only find hoshizora navi.

I think that most of the DS games would be rare only in sealed conditions.. Otherwise is all about money you want to spend to them :)

I can't believe that a console which sell millions of units could have a really rare game you won't find with enough money.

I bought Coropata when it came out... got it at Kojima Denki. But it was more expensive than "normal" releases at the time. I think that's because it was from a smaller publisher.

You are indeed correct, at the moment if you dont mind used games you can find nearly all of them, but the older ones are really hard to find sealed for some of the titles. I was lucky as i bought most of the games i wanted at the time when they came out so i got them new but there are titles now that i missed out on that im trying to find & i want them in new condition so i try to go for sealed, the ydont stay sealed for long though hehe as i buy to play.

Ebay is a joke at the moment, there are a lot of Japanese sellers that are taking the piss with prices on there, selling used ds games for way more than they even cost new. I wouldnt mind if they were near mint but they are just listed as "good" condition.

Too early to say which titles will vanish but in another 5-10 years there will be games you can't find at all. There may be millions of ds consoles but some low profile games got only one small print run.

Hold onto it, it doesn't appear that often nowdays. Even on yahoo theres not many sellers with it for auction.

@Importaku: I totally agree with you. The core of what I said was that: some DS games in sealed status would be really hard to find in several years.. But now, especially for used games.. Meh! I think is only the art of overpricing stuff xDD

Really I'd say the godawful titles will be the most valuable, and the most popular if sealed.

    Zelda, zelda, zelda....

the backyard games were pretty popular because they completely stopped making them almost the same time EA stopped making madden for the DS. but then atari reprinted all of them which brought the value down to $15 for a new copy. but almost 2 christmas ago, the price of all the backyard games were around $60-$70 a copy on amazon for sealed ones. as for madden, i think the value is being destroyed on amazon by pal copies. i would say that madden and the backyard games are more of a seasonal thing.

ill mention the one i think is pretty rare (sealed). like what other people say, its so easy to find used copies of these games.

    - luminous arc 1
its really hard to find a sealed copy of this. worth $67 new on amazon. its an atlus title though, take it with a grain of salt.

    - bella sara
theres a great fan following for bella sara and its not much the collectors that are buying it but parents who wants it for their child. i know its crazy, but someone payed me $178 for it on amazon last christmas.

    - etrian odyssey 1 & 2
they are both hard to find even used copies. but i wouldnt really count on them too much because it is an atlus game and it could get reprinted. this series is very popular in europe since it never came out there.

    - fritz chess
very limited print i think. the developer and the publisher is the same company and theres not very many of it left.

    - bleach 3rd phantom
very scarce game. all of a sudden the price just shot up. no demand for it though, but it is expensive. if you are to buy the game, dont be fooled by pal copies which is worth probably around $10-$20. ntsc copies should be worth at least $50-$60.

A little bit out of subject, but I was wondering if there is any guide for buying "sealed" games.

I purchased some "sealed" GBA games on eBay a couple of years ago and I opened one for verification.

It turned out that the cartridge was a counterfeit one.
