I recently acquired this Gamecube and have been trying to find more information about it. There seems to be very little info about it besides some tidbits on another forum. From what I can gather it was given to people who worked on the Flipper GPU at Ati, been trying to figure out how rare it is though. A few people advised me this would be the best place to post it in hopes of finding any sort of info about it. If more pictures are needed please let me know.

This has happened before, when someone posted their Xbox collection and the first post was missing.

Did you buy this on EBay or are you the one trying to sell it on EBay?

I bought it off of Ebay not long ago. Took a risk not really having much info about it.

That's a nice one, too bad it's not a custom color, like ATI red.

I can't see why you bother buying this Gamecube with just a few words and small logo on it, especially you have a very limited source about this Gamecube. I hope it didn't cost you too much.

I thought it was an interesting piece of video game history to own. I have a small collection of Gamecube/N64/Snes era stuff and I thought this was pretty unique. As I already said I knew I took a chance in buying it. Since I could find so little out about it before hand I knew it was either rare, or I just got screwed. It wasn't crazy expensive so if I got screwed I'll get over it.

That being said, no one has any info about this thing?

Just like the Metroid bundle, boring. :(

    Interesting piece nonetheless.

Your best chance is contact at Nintendo Headquarters. I'm sure they may kept a document about this item.

I hate to say but you might got screwed by the seller or other previously seller. It could be homemade logo.
Did you ask the seller where he did get this item from?

I was planning on either trying to contact Nintendo Headquarters or someone at ATI. I did get a little bit of backstory from the guy I bought it from, nothing substantial though. Going to try and send Nintendo an Email later on.

If it turns out to be legit then it could be worth a small fortune in the future - certainly don't sell it off cheaply now.

Even the blandest, simplest, different style consoles have sold for tons of money. Try to authenticate it first, then things may turn around very rapidly.

I've contacted Nintendo, but who knows how long it will take till they get back to me. Hell I don't even know if the email I sent them was to the right department. All I really want to know is A: If it is legit and B: How many of them are there. If it is real I will absolutely be holding onto it.

It's not the first time i see one of these, so i think it's legit. And indeed rare, so if i were you i wouldn't rush to sell it now, but rather keep for a few years. And btw, can you post a high-res photo?

I was in 2 minds myself whether to buy this or not from the chap on EBay and obviously decided against it.

I don't think you will get anything back from Nintendo regarding this; I think your best bet would be to try and track down anyone who worked at ATI at the time and on Flipper.
I'll do a bit of leg work myself as I am interested (and hopeful) to find out if this is real or not... I suspect it is but it would be great to get a full back story on it.

Nice pick up by the way mate!
