Handheld games don't get mentioned as much and It's hard to find what games are actually rare excluding limited editions. So what do you think are some rare/hard to find 3ds games ? I'll start : Cubic Ninja, some sources say it had a 20 000 unit print run. Good example of a rare game being very cheap, but then exploding in value due to homebrew. Resident Evil Revelaitons - An obvious typo that was quickly changed. Share your info about rare and uncommon 3ds games.
3DS is still in production. Asking now would just be determined by store stock. Really can't lay out "rareness" at the moment.
You have a point, but there still should be rare and unpopular games out there that will never get another print run. A different case is Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. It was a popular game, but made in low quantity, but because of the demand it got another print run. Cases like that don't happen often.
Ocarina of Time is getting scarcer I think, hard to find anywhere selling it new except through 3rd party retailers, and always at or above RRP.
The european golden boxart variation of Ocarina of Time could be kinda rare: Here you see the standard box arts: US EUR JPN AUS And this is the euro one with the golden boxart:
Ocarina of Time is out of print, it's not a rare game, but It will definetly be more expensive in the future. It's already expensive for such an old game. Maybe Nintendo will do something similiar to greatest hits or best seller versions, so they could make more of these sought after games.
It seems like Nintendo is discontinuing some 3DS games. Games like Ocarina of Time, Kid Icarus Uprising, Star Fox 64 3D are out of print and are getting harder to find sealed for some time now.
It's a similiar situation with amiibos. Some big retail stores in Europe are selling amiibos for outrageous prices. Just take a look http://www.konsolenkost.de/suche/?q=amiibo
Please stop saying Ocarina of Time is out of print. Firstly, you don't print a game. Secondly, it's not. Nintendo still sell it both as a download and the card. Yes, it's scarcer nowadays - especially second hand, as nobody gets rid of it and there's high demand. Games that are TRULY rare - Tetris (Game Boy version) and the Ambassador games. You CANNOT buy them any more.
I'm betting Code of Princess will be rare or is already rare. It's a fun game to pick up anyways. Also Project X Zone.
I've read that the US version of Rhythm Thief is quite rare. Plentiful and cheap here in the UK though.
What do you mean "the card"? Do you mean the normal retail game you'd buy at a store or some kind of download code card? I don't think OoT or Star Fox are being produced anymore. They are ofcourse forever available digitally.
Yeah, this is the title I've always heard is a rare US release. It's third party by Sega as well, so the odd of it getting a reprint seem pretty low compared to something as big name as Ocarina of Time 3D.
I'd have to say, the NFR (Not For Resale) Kiosk Demos are pretty rare. Some more than others, but all are uncommon and not for public ownership.
