Yo guys i want ya'll to tell me what you think the rarest SEGA MEGA DRIVE PAL release is. Preferrably from the later release games with the blue box borders. I propose PUNISHER which hardly crops up on eBay and sells for the same as STREETS OF RAGE 3 which isn't that rare but sells well. GAZ
pirates gold is pretty rare i never heard of it until a friend of mine asked if i'd ever played it, from his description it sounds like the forty or so dollars it fetches for the cart.
Not sure if the euro version is at the same rate of rareity as the japanese version, but i would have to say alien soldier.
The rarest pal game is definityl alien soldier. Streets of rage 3 isn't really rare but like radient silvergun on the saturn which also isn't rare at all people tend to pay ridiculous amounts for it and i'm not willing to pay 50 euro's for a game that's almost as common to find as say some of the harder to find sonic games.
More copies of Alien Soldier come up for auction on eBay in a year than do copies of Punisher. Just a random fact. Daze before christmas and Ecco Jr are pretty rare but i own both and have had several copies of Ecco Jr sold thru me to mates etc so i dont consider them rare. But punisher, jesus!
Alien Soldier is not the rarest, though it is the most expensive along with Wily Wars. I tracked the European eBay sites for about 6 months when compiling the PAL MD rarity guide for Digital Press, and from what I saw, the rarest PAL games include: Death & Return of Superman - I've only seen 2 complete copies, and one of them is now on my shelf Mutant League Hockey - this one is surprisingly hard to find, though sells pretty cheap when it does appear Megaman: The Wily Wars - no surprises here Daze Before Christmas - Australia/NZ only? Fatal Fury 2 - Australia/NZ-only? Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel - all SunSoft games are pretty hard to find, but this one and Daze Before Xmas definitely top the pile. Spiderman (The Animated Series) - not to be confused with the dirt-common Spiderman vs the Kingpin, this one is released by Acclaim and is in a later-style blue box. There's one on eBay now, but that's only about the 5th I've seen. Other honourable mentions include: Addams Family Values, Aero the Acrobat 2, Izzy's Quest for the Rings, The Punisher, SeaQuest DSV, Star Trek DS9 and probably a few more I've forgotten. To see the full guide I compiled for DP, go to http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/search.cmf and click 'Genesis' & 'Non-US Releases'.
Of the Brazil-exclusives, I believe the rarest is YuYu Hakusho - I've only ever seen 2 loose copies, and no complete ones. Show do Milhao (and it's sequel) are pretty easy to get hold of, and most of the others aren't *that* rare if you can find a Brazilian contact. Nightmare Circus & Duke 3D are the other pricey ones, but shouldn't cost more than about $40-$50 tops.
I've seen Wily Wars in a shop once (Dutchies can guess which shop I think), cart-only for 120 euros rayer:
For sure. TecToy's Yu Yu Hakusho is very hard to find. TecToy's Phantasy Star 2 release (in portuguese) is also a bit hard to find (not so much like YuYu, but hard anyway). PD
That's just insane. The going rate is around £50-£70 on eBay UK, and slightly less in Europe. The cheapest ones I've seen tend to be the eBay.com.au, where I've seen them sell for about AU$50-60 (~£20-25) in the past.
Yeah.. I KNOW which one you're talking about..if I ever find a copy I'll sell it to them ;-) (probably still give you 10 euro for it)
Well, they did give me 50e in trade-in credit for a Pacman tabletop in pretty roughed-up condition. And there ebay auctions can be helluva cheap :-D But apart from that, they're ripoffs yeah.
ECCO JR is pretty rare people. It is also the biggest pile of crap anyone over 8 years of age will play. GAZ
Damn... I should have bought this one 2 years ago when I see a copy on a Carrefour near home... :smt009
