CD64 by SuperUfo Backup and Dev unit is my rarest thing left I've sold most of my rare stuff but the one thing I have held on to is the CD64 from SuperUfo. It was the most modern of that era being released after the V64 (Doctor series) and the Z64 now esoteric Zip drive based backup device. I've sold my V64 and Z64 but held on to my CD64 as my rarest item. It was most reliable of all the three and I had capabilities for saving all saved game formats. I have a pass thru SRAM cart and an EE cart that went in the top. So you were covered no matter how the game stored save games. I'd sell it too but I just want to make sure it goes to a great home. The last one sold on ebay for $179 so they are back down to a more reasonable price. I was tempted to sell when they were in the $400's but it just felt dirty to sell just to make a fe dollars back on the old hobby. I'm too lazy to list it. The N64 is one of those systems that just begs for playing the real hardware vs emulation. That's why I kept all my N64 goods all these years as I slowly sold off other parts of the console collection.
I don't have anything super-rare, the rarest game would probably be PAL Shining Force CD. Rarest console is a Maziora Dreamcast (unsigned) with shipping box: I also have a copy of Rez signed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi: Unfortunately I don't have a wonderful story of meeting the guy, I got this through a friend.
Yeah it may have been, it was a few months back he mentioned he came across it. Swapped him a copy of Super Mario RPG (US) for it.
rarest things i own Sealed Metal Gear Solid (PAL) NES (In storage atm so no pic) Sealed Xbox One Launch Team 2013 console View attachment 9754 Print test for LE Perfect Dark Zero and autographed mouse matt from the Perfect Dark Team
I sold most of my collection off some years ago, including stuff like Panzer Saga, Sui 2, Ninja Five-O, etc. Nowadays I don't own as much, and nothing too rare, so I guess my submission is a copy of New Vegas signed by members of the team at Obsidian.
Sealed LaserActive Road Prosecutor. $85. I was on the road when the ebay alert popped up, and I pulled over to get it. My favorite item.
Haha, that man has priorities! Good stuff. Also, $85 for a sealed one is an insane bargain, congrats! Open ones already sell for $250+..!!
I have a beta copy of Spyro The Dragon for the Playstation. Me and one other person besides the developer has it, and the other person goes by LXShadow on youtube and has uploaded a full walkthrough of the beta. This is extremely rare. I was lucky and got it only thanks to a former insomniac developer who I was chatting with on OSBetaArchive several years ago before the site shut down.
Most of my rare stuff is Xbox related, but I have a few other rarities including a Car Marty and an Aiwa CSDgm1. My rarest item is a TecToy Zeebo built for a Qualcom executive. It's one of a kind.
@stuntpeople nice pick up with Road Prosecutor I also have that in my collection contrary to popular belief the games opening theme is not the same as the Japanese version. You have to have the Sega MD Pac to enable the Japanese theme rather than the corny American theme. @ ed hunter long time don't see you to much at xboxaddict would love to exchange Original Xbox collecting info with you to make an update to the Xbox masterlist of games that I'm working on. As for me a lot of rare stuff I own but the rarest is a New In box Tiger Learning Computer It is said that this thing was only released in 4 test markets and did not make it to retail and most Tiger Learning Computers in private hands are usually only one or two pieces of the Hardware not the retail box. It however is nothing special and only a Apple IIE clone. A Very rare piece to find NIB indeed .
I like that Tiger Learning Computer, it can't tell if it wants to be a laptop or desktop. Can you connect a disk drive to it? I'm sure I could google for more info Here's some of my Nintendo Australia promo items:
Gimme the corny American theme any day of the week. I read somewhere it was even performed by a Japanese artist.
I'm not sure I'm getting this. Japanese Aracde - Road Blaster - Opening theme is gerenic by Data East Japanese Mega CD - Road Blaster FX - Opening theme by J-Walk and sung in Japanese Japanese Mega LD - Road Blaster - Opening Theme ??????? Japanese Saturn & PlayStation - Road Blaster - Opening theme is the same as the Japanese arcade. Japanese MSX - Road Blaster - Opening theme is the same as the Japanese arcade. ios - Road Blaster - Opening theme is the same as the Japanese arcade. Unofficial SNES / SFC version - Super Road Blaster - Opening theme is the same as the Japanese arcade. Western Mega CD / Sega CD - Road Avenger - Opening theme by J-Walk and sung in English Western Mega LD - Road Prosecutor - Opening theme by J-Walk and sung in English. So it seems the game is called Road Blaster in most places and Road Avenger for the western Mega CD / Sega CD. So where on earth did Road Prosecutor come from? It would also seem that only the Mega CD / Sega CD and Mega LD versions of the game feature the music by J-Walk.
Oh no stuntman trust me the Japanese opening theme is much better than the US Opening theme. Before I get into the nitty gritty with the different Road Prosecutor theme music The Laseractive is region free however it will play the Region of the SEGA and or NEC Pac that is inserted into the Laseractive So if you play the Japanese version of JB Harold LD ROM on an US NEC Pac it will default to the US game not the Japanese Game and If you Put an US LD ROM into a Japanese NEC PAC it will default to the Japanese game confusing isn't? So that is why when you play the US Version of Road Prosecutor on the US SEGA Pac it will play the US theme music and not the Japanese theme music @ Yukumo Here is the two differences to the Theme Music pay no attention to the Youtube header as he did not state he was using a Japanese Sega Pac 1 the Mega Drive version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23Oa4yx7AkQ And here is the Opening to the Arcade Laserdisc Version Road Blaster Opening theme Music which is the Music to the US Version of Road Blaster sounds good but more Rock sounding http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciMTAcqdh4o How do I know this well I put the laserdisc in my Laseractive and play it and it plays the non Japanese Theme Music So to review Playing any US Laseractive Games in a Japanese PAC will result in the game being in Japanese. And When you Play Japanese Laseractive game on a US PAC will result in the game being in US. Confused me too but them the breaks
Different strokes. That's good to know. No wonder the US and JP versions don't have a huge price difference.
