I just bought 2 from this place http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6043092590.html The one pictured is the last GOLD version but they said they'll send me the latest one which is released on the 25th March.
Is there a reason to own a 3DS flash card besides piracy? I've been thinking about getting a GBA flash cart, mainly so that I can play beta games and tech demos, but also because I could put a lot of games on it and thus avoid having to carry around all of the carts.
Maybe for homebrew if there is any. I'm getting it for my son's 3DS so that he can have all of his games to hand without taking all the cards. Kids loose things way to easily so I'd rather he kept his original games at home and just took one card filled with everything so he wouldn't need to take it out of the system..
Yes you can. I recently bought a 2DS and a R4i Gold RTS so I could play DS games on it. Mostly so I could make decent trainer passes for the pokemon game on my wii. But I also got the Pokemon X game because I like the pokemon games. But honestly, I find that the 3DS sort of rocks. Face Raiders and the Streetpass is pretty cool. The AR cards are neat, more games need to take advantage of that. I might by a few more games for it, probably get some from the eshop. While I'm a tiny bit bummed it can't play GBA games (didn't do my homework), it's not as big of a deal because I still have a working GBA with a Supercard SD in it. Plus this killer Dingoo that can play GBA games (plus other emulators) excellent. Only problem my eye sight is starting to suck (don't get old), so I'm going to have to get some reading glasses or something for handheld games.
Removes region lock for legit games. You don't need a 3DS flashcart for homebrew though. Current 3DS exploits need a DS flashcart though.
just to clarify some facts, i was the person doing the brick tests on the oficial gateway b2 firmware, gateway has since released 2.1 with the brick code removed, and it now has the ability to play dumped eshop games, nand saving games (pokemon X & Y, animal crossing) and multirom, I wouldn't recommend any other card tbh (MT isn't too bad no brick reports but they are still based on gateway's firmware and have multirom...no eshop or pokemon though) but as the OP has said he has updated past 4.5 he can't really use any of the 3ds flashcards, best he can get is a NDS card that works on a 3DS, it wont play 3ds games, but he can use NDS games/homebrew One last point is that there is an exploit found that will work up to 6.3 which will allow 3ds mode homebrew (when its finnaly released, the dev is still working on it though)......it unknown if this will get flash cards working but if you ever want the possibility try stick to 6.3 or lower, if your already past 4.5 that is
