I'm after a USB programmer which I can hopefully use for everything (within reason). At the moment I've got a couple of cheap PIC programmers, which only program a limited number of chips each and for AVR I have a USBtinyISP programmer for which I have programming circuits set up on protoboards. I would like to have one USB programmer which can handle a range of both PIC and AVR chips of different package sizes, but have no idea how much I should be expecting to pay for such an item. If anyone has any recommendations, that'd be great.
I just got this Wellon VP496 programmer and for the price it handles quite a bit of chips including AVR (has the ISP header in the back of unit), I also picked up a few adapters to handle various chips. http://www.drivestar.biz/vp496-programmer-p-3028.html Device list for ATMEL and what adapters that might be needed: http://www.weilei.com.cn/vp-496list.htm#ATMEL
