I was late on renewing my domain name, being absent during the expiration date. Nevertheless, I renewed a few days later, on the 26th of Dec.

I paid for a renewal, the payment was accepted. (at www.registerfly.com )

Now, 2 weeks later, they still haven't changed the status of my domain name from 'expired'.

The 'whois' shows that the website is still in my name, as 'sponsored by eNom' (registerfly's service provider).

I have made complaint tickets, and they said something about taking five days. Further to those five days, i updated my complaint ticket, and now they ve CLOSE IT.

I m not a happy man right now, and I have so many things to deal with at this time, or else I d pick up the phone and give them hell.

Any ideas as to 'when' this will be fixed or 'why' is this taking so long?

I m now confident that registerfly.com sucks shite. Until recently, they didn't even accept paypal, which made them a pain in the-ass for re-newing a domain name using a credit card.

Any advice on what I should do about this?:rambo:

They are waiting to see if anyone wants to buy your domain name on the secondary market for an inflated price before letting you have it again.

oh but they ll get sued by me, don't they know? it's called 'passing-off' and I ve already made clear to them my intentions of keeping the name since it has been a point of business and a trademark ever since 2004.

Also, they haven't made any such disclosue to me and have been very unhelpful.

ICANN will hear of this, and if they don't do it, the courts will ;)

Is there a way to check the secondary market myself? I m curious

    I sent them the following:

My friend lost his domain, neomidgar.com (quite popular at the time), and never was able to get it back :\

Borman is right here mate. If someone decides to go with your domain name within 2 weeks (isn't it?) then you're buggered. I really hope you get it back.

But he was only 4 days late, surely any company would have a "grace" period between the experation date, and when they are allowed to resell the domain

Sorry to hear about your loss Barc0de, hopefully, it will work out for the best

funny how the bastards keep giving the exact same answer every-time isnt it? In short, I don't recommend Registerfly.com . They lack professionalism and a sense of duty. They impose obligations, but do not confer any rights, and accordingly their tech support is NOT worth the registration price I paid them.

Sounds like bullshit to me man. Send them another email, type it in block form as professionally as you can, mention the words "litigation" and "fraud," and mention that a copy of the letter has been sent to your lawyer. We'll see how fast your domain gets fixed.
