Not to mention that Lucas basically made a three movies out of a cool unexpected plot twist. Wich I think defeats the point.

I'mean, I can enjoy all 6 movies on their own merits (especially epsiode 3) but to me, they are more like expensive fanfics.

Stephen Chow is awesome. I'm surprised Kung Fu Hustle was more advertised and shown in cinemas around the world instead of Shaolin Soccer. Everybody can relate to football more easily and because of that, the movie is more accesible than Hustle. I loved both anyway.

Can't agree with you on this one Grace. There's been some pretty bad-ass remakes out there.

Dawn of the dead (2004) - kicks major ass.

Jet Li's Fist of Legend, remake of Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection - The baddest Kung Fu movie ever.

The Island (2005), semi-remake of Logan's Run (1975) - Logan's Run is supposed to be this groundbreaking scifi movie. But it's not, it stinks. The Island is Hollywood crapola but it's still better than Logan's Run.

Body Heat (1983) remake of Double Indemity (from 195?) Back in the day you weren't allowed to have the bad guy win. Here they take classic film noir, but this time the Bad guy gets away with it. Plus you get to see Kathleen Turner naked and it was back in the 80s when she was totally hot.

The Adams Family (movie) - The Adams family TV show was lame. They actually improved a lot on the source material here.

Lost in Space - The lost in space TV show was fucking stupid. Movie was decent, except for the CG alien-monkey thing.

The Blob (1986) - A very good remake. Best line: "Watch out. He's got some kind of corrosive shit on his hands."

The Fly (80s) - ten times better than that "Help me!" baloney of the original.

The Fly II, Remake of Son of the Fly - The fly acid-pukes on somebody's face and melts his ass to death. Totally awsome.

Texas Chainsaw Massacare (2003) - This movie has it all. Suicide, drug use, cannabalism, crazy hicks who feel up gorgeous dead women, Leatherface getting his arm chopped off, etc. The original doesn't even show anyone die.

Peter Jackson's King Kong - Kicks ass all over the place. Don't ask me how I know :)

Count of Monte Cristo (2002) - The best revenge movie ever

Godzilla final wars (2005, Remake of Destroy all Monsters) - Totally awsome.

Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II (1993) - Ten times better than the crappy one from the 70s. I'm like a Godzilla fanatic BTW.

Godzilla GMK - The best giant monster movie ever, hands down. Anyone who doesn't like Godzilla is a pussy and hasn't been exposed to the asskicking that is this movie. It's not a remake, but I don't care.

Ive only seen the Count of Monte Cristo on that list. I might have seen those Godzilla movies, though.

We were all mispronouncing Danglars name in our English class. Who knew it was "DanGLAH"...

Hmmmm Riget by lars Von Trier rocks in the horror genre (no joke !!!) I am not watching the first episodes, anymore. Because That movie is scary. Fru Drusse is by the way dead, of cancer(RIP).

But Kingdom Hospital has not an essence of the DANISH original by Lars Von Trier :D

Riget is by the way the real nickname of the hospital "Rigshopitalet" (real) , before the show came on the air.

And there is a single famous (syncronised, since he can´t speak Danish) international actor Udo Kier, playing Aage Kryger/Krüger. I can´t remember how they spell the name.
