Thank God these are just PAL.

Can you imagine trying to track down the retail AND the rental version of every PS1 game to complete your collection.

    Nice stuff guys,

On the subject, I wonder if anyone has a complete ps1 game collection. I would imagine one exists somewhere in the world.

If I remeber right the UK rental version of Wipeout 2097 PS1 had a diffrent soundtrack to the retail version.

I don't think even retail would be possible.

Retail is very possible as very few if any games are rare.

some games are released (at least back in the day) to the "rental only" market because they are so bad that retailers don't want them, they missed their shipping window, or they just don't appeal to retailers enough to justify the release. So they'd become "rental only" and sold to places like Ingram, Blockbuster, etc. as "exclusives" for considerably higher than a retail game would be.

Back in the day a few came to mind: Magic Johnsons Basketball from Virgin (SNES), which I believe was one of the first ones; Skyblazer from Sony Imagesoft (SNES) was also another rental only version. I know Imagesoft released a few rental only games (I believe NASCAR on Genesis).
