Repairing a genuine SNES Australian AC adapter?

    That's what I figured too, thanks! It's a pain that it's this end with the broken wire, from the looks of things, one of the wires is unsleeved, and they pop a heat shrink tube around the exposed wire in the AC adapter. Maybe I can re-use the tube?

    IT'S ALIVE!!

    Yep, it was as simple as chopping off a length of wire, checking the connectivity, and soldering the wires back on when all looks good. The hard part was Nintendo glued the little rubber bendy thing to the wire! Why? It's held in place by the plastic shell, it's not gonna go anywhere! I ended up having to drill out the old wire :\ Thanks for your help guys!

    Glad you got it working man! I didn't realise how hard it is to come by an official adapter these days.

    They go for damned near $35 on eBay! I can pick up 3rd party ones that work, but hey, I've got an AC adapter right here, why not get it working?

    Well, it's good to know that this is a common issue and the solution is as simple as this. Will be handy for next time if I get another non-working AC adapter!
