This has to be the most common pic of a Castlevania promo ever, does it even exist any other promo carts in the hands of a private person?

    I start to wonder....

Does anyone know who owns this particular copy right now? I would love to get my hands on it.

I think it did not sell in the end, I read the seller asked alot for it but don't know for sure. I think a member at Digitalpress contacted him and he said he had two beta's.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Castlevania Bloodlines for $1500, I've also seen Dracula X. And I own a Vampire's Kiss. But those are the only 3 versions I've seen for sale.

I’m pretty sure it sold for around $400 which I believe is quite generous for just a localization.

I'm pretty sure that the Castlevania Bloodlines proto has an additional level that never made it to the retail copy. I'll try to look into it some more. But I'm pretty sure it has additional content, that's why the seller wants more for it now.

You're talking about a new level not included in Vampire Killer? That would be a first for Konami.

BTW, the timestamps date my pictures to 5/26/02.

It is funny to see this old picture again:icon_bigg I am the owner of this game, from what I remember I bought it on ebay around 5 years ago from Tara2000 for around £ 400,- (alot I know but I stil think it is quite cheap for such an interesting proto)

This game is the 0.5 version as is shown on the label, it is very incomplete. If you enter the 'Konami code' you have access to an level select and some kind of debug menu where you can play with some sprites, colors, enemies etc.

The picture is from a level not included in the final game, I think because there is this Nazi zappelin Sega might not be so happy about (bad publicity). The game stops around level 7 then you simply cannot go on because platforms are missing to go up in this level.

Most of the later levels are very early and have only a few or no enemies. Also some graphics are quite different.

I have another Castlevania Bloodlines proto, I traded it but it does not start up, I am not sure what version of the game it is. It might be teh complete version but it can also be an early version just like this one.

I have one more Castlevania proto it is Dracula X for the snes, it is the USA version and from what I have seen it is the final version. But I can be wrong I only played a few levels yet. (maybe someone overhere knows if this could be repaired somehow:icon_bigg )

From what I know there are not alot CV proto's in hand of collectors, I know the biggest proto collector around here has no Castlevania proto's from what I know I only know about this pal Castlevania Vampires Kiss proto. (I never heard back from the owner after several messages when we worked on a sale or trade:crying:)
I am almost sure it must be a completed version identical to the released one because it came out alot later in Europe.

It would be great if someone will ever find more and especially a proto of the unreleased DC version or the first N64 game because that one changed alot during development if I see all those diifferent screenshots in old magazines. Also I think CV4 changed quite alot during development I have seen pictures of a different map and different graphics.

Guess you've seen that Castlevania 4 preview video, right?
That one has like changes/differences all over the place :D
(Wish I could get a higher quality copy of that vid somehow, only have an RM stream somewhere)

Guess a little AR magic or some hacking could fix solve that issue to look what's beyond the missing platforms.
(Or maybe there's debugger features to skip maps/screens, or free movement/placement of char?)

    Yeah, that's the same video.

I wonder where it's from, as I want a cleaner/higher quality of it

    lol

    THROUGH A ROOM!!!

    ....and a stable.

Thanks for the link, interesting video. It reminds me of those non-playable SNES kiosks they had at Toys R Us back in the day, that would loop SNES game footage over and over. I was going to guess it was from that, however, at the end it says "spellbinding sales(?)" A video for dealers?

That Stage Select Menu is still in the final version, at least partially. The text is there, and someone was trying to get the actual menu code working, I don't know if they were successful or not.

I feel bad for the guy doing the voice over. It's like they didn't give him a script and just told him to wing it.

THROUGH A ROOM... WTF kind of bullshit is that?
I mean I don't know how many times I was playing some crumy outdoor adventure game like uhh Seventh Cross Evolution and I thought to myself.. *if only I was playing a game that let me adventure my way through A ROOM*

And is it just me or does he really say boss characters wrong?
