I like the way he kinda laughs for himself when he says "Man eating plants that seems to be VeHery Hungry!"

    I wish I had that guy's job :(

    :noooo:

More ugly?? It was graphically one of the best snes games, great special effects too...some later levels looked amazing.
Maybe only Simon himself could use some better graphics but the backgrounds are very detailed and ad lots of character to the game.

You've got to be joking ! Castlevania 4 on the SNES is ugly ! Take away all those fancy mode 7 effects and you're left with one ugly looking game. The Sharp X68000 version looks way better as does the Meag Drive game. Don'T take me wrong here, I love the SNES but with the massive colour pallet it has, Castlevania could have looked so much better.

Yes, Castlevania IV is beautiful in some levels, but wayyyy too dark on the whole. They overdid the gloom.

well I dont think the MD version looks better at all, only the main character maybe...the MD version has many very ugly levels only the first levels look ok...yes the 68.000 version looks better (but the game is not very exciting to play) but if you compare this CV4 to other snes games from around that time it looks great...

Not many really special items like proto's, just some nice promo items like a whip, a ring, a bandara...also many books and music cd's, the haunted castle jamma pcb and all CV games every version (pal/us/jap)
Also I have some promo discs (full versions) , one of them is Castlevania Symphony of the Night..

Sure I'll post pics of the Vampire Kiss proto. But first I need to clean up the viruses on my home computer. I can't do much of anything on it right now.

I have a PAL promo version of SotN that is pretty much the full US/NTSC release but in PAL. Complete with some graphical errors in certain areas.

Wouldn't mind seeing some of those promo items :D What can I say, I'm a Castlevania fanboy ;)

Although I can't say that Super Castlevania (4) is pretty, it did feature some remarkable effects - as long as you liked brown and yellow.

The best part of Castlevania 4 was the music, IMO. Did the prototype use the same music, I wonder?

Is there any differences between the SotN PAL promo and the final release?

Was this released as a disc only or did it came with single jewelcase with cover like some other PSX and PS2 promos?

You're right, but the effects make it an amazing game for a mere 8Mbits.
