Just so you know, the Solent SHO prototype ends with the video that I showed, that was all that was made by them. There are two other builds that are just unfinished versions of the same thing, all built off of Ghost Rider.

 

Are there any videos of those made off of the Ghost Rider?

 

Its all built off of Ghost Rider. Thats why the fonts and menus look how they do. Same engine, same code, obviously just changed to look more Silent Hill-y.

 

Never even imagined that one of my favorite games is a reskinned version of a game, that I ain't ever likely going to play

 

Game development is like that, they build off the technology from other games in the studio. With a quick demo, those roots are more likely to be seen, since they arent going to spend tons of man hours changing things.

 

Can I ask you a question, Borman?

Are the Butcher Shop from the Solent demo, the Asylum from the Leipzig demo and the Town the only playable maps that were created for pre-Climax UK Silent Hill Origins?

Were any of the later locations, like the Theater even started before development was handed over to the UK branch?

I actually missed your video, I just watched it for the first time!
I was always intrigued by the scrapped first draft of Silent Hill Origins, it's super awesome that you managed to uncover so much info about the game.

I know there isn't much to the Solent Demo, but it'd really like to play it one day...

Anways, thank you for all your hard work!
I'm sure acquiring and documenting these prototypes, assets and design documents was no small feat.
