http://www.gamespot.com/news/6168329.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=newstop&tag=newstop;title;4 Man, I remember thinking a few days ago how well Resident Evil 4 would work as a Wii game....As long as it has true widescreen mode + the PS2 extras, then this could be the best version of the game.
They'll fuck it up with stupid Wii controls. Bio Hazard 4 "Game Cube" played on the Wii is all you need ! Yakumo
1) beware of April 1st hoax. 2) RE:Umbrell Chronicles is on the way, so there's not much point in yet another port
1) I doubt a major store and a major game site would pull a April 1st joke before April 1st. They tend to keep it within April 1st itself. 2) True, but this is Capcom we are talking about. They ported Resident Evil 2 and 3, that have been on every major system of its time to a new system (GCN) at a high price range for a unmodified port. Since the PC port is a major dissapointment, the Wii version may be the only one that does the PS2 content with acceptable graphics (If they include it).
Ok, if they include the PS2 crap, while retaining the GC look, and somehow manage to fit in 'wii-gimick-controls' then i ll be a happy man. If they game came on one disk instead of two, i ll be a happier man. If they include GCN pad support i ll wet my pants
Here is how I think it will be done (Note: This is just a prediction): A will obviously be the "Context Sensitive" button for most of the common things, while other things (Such as trying to break free of something), would be shaking the nun-chuck or the Wii remote. Wii remote will obviously be the aiming, and the button on the bottom of the Wii remote (Forgot the specific name at the moment) will be for mounting and aiming it. Movement will be done on Analog, and the inventory and map will be the - and +, my guess at least. Also, I doubt it would be two discs. Publishing would be higher due to the two discs, and the Wii DVD can hold plenty as it is.
If anyone still wondering this is like pretty much confirmed THeres a photo from blockbusters database as well http://gonintendo.com/?p=15348 and some japanese retailer also has it up http://gonintendo.com/?p=15355
I was pretty much right! Like I predicted: widescreen support, PS2 content, Wii controls fairly similar to what I thought. Pretty good for $30, especially since I just traded my GCN version.
I won't be buying it. Bio Hazard 4 on the Cube is good enough. A few little extras and cheap gimick controls aren't worth it. Yakumo
I'm having tons of fun with the PS2 version (Yes, i'm finally having some time to actually play games).
*Gasps in horror* Now why would you go and do a thing like that? Is this after you heard about this announcement? (Which I believe was announced today..)
I don't see the point of this game (other than Capcom earning some cash) being released on Wii only with the control changed when you can play the GC version. I'd prefer a RE2 remake with updated graphics (like REmake) instead of another RE4. I was expecting RE:Umbrella Chronicles to be a Gun Survivor game, but to have this confirmed is really bad news. I've read that there'll be a 3rd person view available for some parts of the game (perhaps like RE Dead Aim?), but I don't know if this is true.
