Resident Evil 5 Trailer - Your impressions...

Well finally we are treated to an HD version of the trailer and to me as a big fan of the series, it just looks awesome, scarry as hell as well!!!

Graphically it's a big improvement over Res4, even Dead Rising looks a bit pale in comparison, but we are closer or above the beauty of a GOW with smoother framerate cutscenes.

I like the new setting in Africa, less dark than previous episodes but still the horror is there, it is quite refreshing. It's going to be nice to play as Chris Redfield again.:clap: Maybe we'll see Claire again...

The new virus/infection looks a bit like 28 days later, I like the blood coming of the eyes of the ennemies, very nicely made. The CAPCOM guys are taking their time to do but it's fine by me as long as it is better than 4.

Let's hope my 360 will last until then, it'd be cool to have some online play as well but not in the vein of the PS2 iterations, didn't like it much...

Could you possibly link to the trailer. I'd like to see it but I'm not sure where to look.

 

I've only seen the footage shown at the Microsoft conference so far. I thought that it was an impressive teaser. Does the extended trailer show gameplay footage?

I wasn't sure from it if the setting was somewhere in Africa or Haiti. If it is Africa I hope they finally use the setting to also bring back Billy Coen and finally explain his past and how he knew of the mother virus.

I wish this comes out for the PC as well, because i don't have the money for PS3 or a 360. It seems that this will be one hell of a game

Wow thanks for the links. That does look quite amazing, kind of RE meets Blackhawk Down or something. All of those huge crowds make me paranoid.

 

I swear, everytime I turn on my PS3, there is another system update which forces me to dig out the damn USB cord just to install it...

Edit: Sony must be watching me. They seem to have changed that little annoyance with the last update...

 

I love the setting, love the graphics, love that it is multi-format. It's going to be great.

 

You would think Sony would make a system update to fix you having to use the USB cord every time you want to update...Oh well.

Anywho, the game looks great. Even though the enemies look like a faster version of the Gandos, many have been wanting a game like RE4 for awhile (Lets face it: I doubt Capcom will go back to the old way of doing it in the main games in the series).

 

The graphics are fine, but at 1080p, the jagged edges were really noticeable. And again it looks like they are going with a non-zombie theme...

 

It looks cool. I was impressed by the lightning effects.

And I guess the 1080p version is just upscaled, so watch the 720p version.

 

It looks amazing to me but I'm dissapointed that theres not going to be zombies again Oh wel I guess but apart from that it looks like it will be just like 4 with better graphics and of course more weapons :nod:

I wonder which system Capcom is leading with when developing RE5? My guess is prolly 360.

 

hmmmm is it only me, or do I sense a kind of racy feature in it, such as those he is fighting against in the trailer are black people. And he is white ? of course the game looks smashing, but still am I the only who feels something is a just a bit wrong ?

 

Well who do you expect him to be fighting up against in africa??? It might be a shock but "Gasp" black people are the most seen in africa. It would be even weirder to have the umbrella corp ship in a whole cast of white zombies just for political correctness so people can't scream OMG teh Razcist 111ONE!!!!!

Skin colour is irrelevant when it comes to zombies they are all fair game, if i saw a group of them coming for me, skin colour would be the last thing id be thinking about LOL

Argh, why can't it be like the 1930s. A friend of mine has an old atlas, it also has a map of races, neatly dividing the world into "Caucasians" and "Negroes" :lol:

 

Well yeah we can gurantee that there will be an outcry like with every game nowdays.

Makes you wonder if theres a building somwhere, where there are people playing games 24/7 looking for anything slightly offensive or racist.
