It's nice to hear that the donations reached their goal. :)

I'll probably be popping the ROMs on my PSP to try them out, since I don't have a GBC Flash.

After the owner of the 2 builds get the money what will happend to them? Besides going to public?

People said the price would drop but I bet it will end up in somebody else's hand.

The owner usualy keeps them, though in this case both owners will keep their own carts. It isn't like the carts disappear into the sunset or anything. Sooner or later the carts will be resold for whatever reason and when they do, they will be sold for far less than their original purchase price.

Put it this way - the original owner was taking a hit @ $2k. Now there are 2 carts there is a smaller slice of the pie for them, but if they didn't share, the other could have been dumped and then no one would have bothered to pay for the original, so by taking a lesser cut everyone wins.

Can't wait to load this up on Goomba Color. I've been watching this thread and I've been wanting to do a donation, but with a lack of funds, I couldn't. But thanks to everyone that did donate and to the dumper, we're getting a mighty fine release here.

Yes, that was a mess, I had to wait like a month for it to get released. It certainly took many chances to get this one uploaded...

I asked Kiff if he could ask the owners if they would sell the cartridge after the end of the fundraiser but never got a reply :(

Well, the topic hasn't even been updated yet to show the donation goal was reached. Give it a bit more time.

The cartridge costs much more as 500$ even after release.

The carts are standard writable dev carts. They will be worth next to nothing. You can buy one, then flash it with this rom when it's released and have the exact same thing.

You will have piece of crap, not a piece of game history. The cart is collectible.

Having roms is nice. But its not the same as having original carts.

If cart is for sale - feel free to PM me.

the original cart is a standard REWRITABLE dev cart. you can write the rom to it, you have no way to tell if its "original" or not.

I could make as many of these as I like and sell them as original - hence the original point of the cart being worth much less when released, AS YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN.

How much would it cost to make these carts? , it would be great to play on gbc or gba.
can't wait till this gets released.

Look on all little details like scratches/scuffs - you will have to make similar on similar places. Are you sure that you can make visually identicial carts or you think that buyer will close his eyes and put cart on shelf?

Just one question: How would you know the rom hasn't been recently flashed to the cartridge you're buying?

What if the rom has been dumped 10 years ago, the original cartridges were lost and just recently someone burned the rom to a cartridge?

    You'd never know!

2 versions of this came out, whats to say someone else doesnt have a copy and will try and sell it?

Once the rom is released, anyone claiming to own an "original cart" cant prove it - as you can make your own. I could try and sell you a cart after this rom is released and say "I have had this in my personal collection for years, but now the rom is out - I would rather sell it to a collector as a piece of resident evil history"

Scratches/what ever doesnt matter in the slightest.

As alphagamer said, you would never know. Thats the thing about proto carts - someone said earlier, its about the content NOT the cart itself, as there is no artwork and an identical can be replicated by just flashing the rom to a dev cart.
