I've seen quite a few of those silver review copies for the Saturn on eBay over the years, many in paper sleeves (often featuring Nelson Bostock contact information) and some having the game's title written on the disc with a marker pen, but never for such a high price - my guess is that someone thought a Resident Evil "prototype" would be more valuable to collectors or fans of that series! Now that I think about it, the most expensive similar items that I've seen before this are probably a complete set of Shenmue white label Dreamcast promos... aren't these actually quite common, even the Fighting Vipers 2 disc that is a genuine late beta?

I'm not sure how many Resident Evil promo silver disc, someone said it was less than 30 copies ever made. I mean after all..... it was sent to journalist to review game. I agreed with you what you said about big treasure hunter. This incredible hard to find one. Most Resident evil hardcore collectors don't own the Resident evil promo disc in their collection either it was too expensive or can't find one. Someone offer me for £60 just for Resident Evil paper sleeve.

I don't have anymore Promo disc since I got rid of them apart from Sega Saturn Resident Evil and Tomb Raider promo disc which worth to keep. Anyway Good luck :)

Tomb Raider and Resident Evil Promo disc for Sega Saturn are most expensive and hard to find while other promo games are fairly cheap since it not exactly has a huge popularity like what Tomb Raider and Resident Evil has. Not to mention, You won't find Tomb Raider or Resident Evil promo disc for playstation because it does not exist . That why the price is high especially If it does come with Paper sleeve.

I don't see what the fuss is about for a retail disc in a sleeve. I could never drop $400 or more on a retail review copy like that, even for collectors sake. Although I do own 6 copies of the Biohazard Trial for PS1, three of them are still new in shrink..

Well it all depends how nuts you are or just being a massive residents evil fan that willing to pay that kind of price. Again it believe less than 30 promo copies ever made as I been told.. so price are high. I only bought mine because it was unexpected sale and I had the money to spend that easily back then without hesitate.

How much you paid your for Resident Evil Trial? In shrink? Cool :)

I bought three in a lot for $170, the sealed were in a lot for $290. Expensive but I am planning on selling them down the road when their rarity is at an all time high.

I am a massive RE fan though. I own over 100 (estimate) different variations and pressings of the games. I have a brand new copy of all the US games, most of the Japanese pressings, and a few PAL. I own open copies of every one of them though. So yeah, big fan.. and always searching for more.

I have one as well: :)

The price of Resident Evil items (including promos) are pretty low these days compared to a few years ago... You won't get £200 for a RE SS promo these days...

You can't say for sure Decades. One of owner had sold Resident evil promo copy without sleeve for £280 three weeks ago.

Like I said, there are some nutty residents evil fans out there would willing to pay it. It all down to buyers what think it worth.

Not everything on the site, but mostly, yes. Which of the items on the site I own are shown here:
    http://crimson-ceremony.net/lostreleases/collection/index.php
Use the small links in the header to change between Silent Hill, Resident Evil, etc.

Yeah nothing is written in stone, but generally prices have been trending down for a while.

Here's my collection, though the video is outdated. I've since added like 100 more items to my collection.
