The XBOX One is the console version of Roddy Piper. I don't mean it's dead. I mean just when you think you have the answers, it changes the questions.
"Let's have Doom run on it!" "Umm, isn't the new Doom coming out for the XB1?" "Nooo, I mean 1995 Doom!"
I wonder if were gonna get emulators made for it soon i hope! Nintendo 64, Playstation 1 and Sega Saturm emulation here we come!!
Didnt they announce that it is to develop apps, not games? Not that there isn't an overlap, but Im thinking some people might be disappointed.
As I've said before, I don't even think Microsoft has a clear idea as to of what they want here. They just seem to be running around grasping at random ideas. That said, apparently Quantum Break's idea kinda works. Will be interesting to see if MS/other developers attempt to evolve that idea. No, the article states that it will support game development.
Random observation I've noticed in my area Gamestops have large sections for XBONE than PS4. The XBONE display has a bigger monitor than the PS4 display. YET I never see a soul buying XBONE games at Gamestop. That that for what it's worth. That said, I think the XBONE might make a fine media Box to replace my PS3 when video services for it finally go off line.
I only go to Gamestop for "need it now" accessories, and no one is ever in there when I go. Games bought in 2015 or 2016 get downloaded to my external HDD, no switching discs for this lazy guy. And yes I love physical libraries and I'll buy all my Xbox One (See that I typed it out) games on disc when they are on the local craigslist or eBay for 5-10 each.
I got my PS4 at Gamestop, They get a lot of unwarranted hate. I'll probably get my XBONE and Wii U there too, only used.
Well the kiosks are based on how big MS and Sony make them. I do notice that it seems the XB1 section is just in the same place the 360 one was, while the PS4 is usually near the back of the store, where the PS3 was. The poor Wii U has less space than the Skylanders do
They get a lot of warranted hate as well. I just wish the state attorney generals would go after them for some of their illegal business practices (e.g. selling used/opened items as "new").
I bought an Xbox One game there in 2014 thinking it was new until I got home and opened the bag, was a used game.
