I started going at it with this guy over a freakin' Tekken Video. I like Both games, but I personally think Tekken is Superior due to it's accessibility and interesting characters... and are these trolls even aware that Sega and Namco have done co promotion in the past? AND that at some point want to do a cross over game?

Either these guys are total retards or Itagaki has 2 You Tube Accounts.

What's really the point to this? They're 2 great games One Technical one accessible.

If we want to talk about Shit 3d fighters..there's DOA.... (And I enjoy DOA too)

 

DOA started out ok and DOA2 is one of my all time favorites, also due to accessibility.

Fanboyism is never a good thing, one should be open minded.

 

I'm not saying DOA sucks or anything, it's just, kinda stayed the same for 5 or 6 games. I hope an Itagakiless DOA 5 is in the works with a whole new gameplay style.

The Best thing about VF is that it changes things up sequel to sequel though besides being prettier I fail to see much difference in the leap from Evo to 5. VF3 was awesome and on the same Token Tekken 4 was awesome, they're both ironically the black sheep of their resepctive series.

I miss the danger zones from the First DOA, DOA 2 had some really awesome stages that DOA 3 and 4 lack.

Honestly if I was to rank the major 3 non weapons based 3d fighters It'd go

Tekken> DOA> Virtua Fighter

I like VF and all it just, lacks personality that DOA and Tekken have in spades.

How come Fighting Vipers and Last Bronx have been ignored? Those were both Fantastic games.

 

Tekken and VF are miles ahead of DoA, even if it is fun.

 

I wish VF5 online was more...I dont know..complete there werent even any online achievements.

and like I said, VF just lacks personality. Favorite VF is tied between 3 arcade and 2.1

 

If they hate mainstream fighters why are they playing Virtua Fighter.

Virtua Fighter is by far the best one.

Personally i think VF3 arcade it's the best 3d fighting game in playability therms.

Unreachable, Yu Suzuki at it's peak.

Tao Feng was way more awesome than it's ever given credit for It's what Tekken should've evolved to.

None the less that kind of retarded fanboyism I NEVER thought I'd see... it's not like they're exclusive to one console anymore either. We can play and enjoy both.

VF4 Evo, for me, it's the best 3d fighter to this day. (i haven't played VF5 yet - yeah shame on me)

I really like Tekken too, but while Tekken 1,2 and 3 were awesome, Tekken 4 was a huge flop. Namco got back together with Tekken 5, which i liked (and most people too).

Still, i'm still not much interested on Tekken 6. Namco does a fantastic job in porting arcades, but they have to do something to spice the formula.


Anyway, don't bother with fanboyism. Some people like to act like that to feel better themselves. I mentioned somewhere that i never liked the lighting effects of Forza 2 / 3, and hordes of Turn10 fanboys started to flame me. I pointed out that the games are great, have tons of features not present in GT but that wasn't enough. They think i have to accept something as "true perfection" just because they think it is.

Open minded people are rare these days... They only stopped flaming me and others, when someone else posted lots of youtube video links with Forza 3 bugs, with cars racing on the air, texture warp / missing, bad collision detection and physics bugs (cars going up like rockets).

 

If you Played VF4 evo you played VF 5.

I'm in a minority of people who Love Tekken 4. It really changed things up the downside is after the epic scope of Tag and 3 the roster locales and story were underwhelming. Heihachi the boss...AGAIN...RIIIIIIGHT

I really want Tekken to include tag teams again. Tekken Tag is probably the best Tekken followed by 4 then 5 then 3 then 2 then 1

Too early to call on 6

 

I always found VF "stale" in comparison to Tekken, but that changed with 5.

I'm more of a 2D fighter fan anyway.

Yeah I do Tag is in my PS2 now actually. I lack the PS1 Tekken 1 and 2 I need to get those The PS1 Tekken 1 is vastly superior to the Arcade version i've been playing in MAME and on the Tekken 5 Disc.

2 has the best music Tag has the worst. I swear Tekken Tag has Rejected ridge racer music.

Actually I think Ridge Racer and Tekken share the same sound team.

Speaking of a series going down hill...Ridge racer is a shining example of that

Ridge Racer went downhill as soon as Gran Turismo was released.

 

Virtua Fighter 3 annihilates Tekken 3 in EVERY sense of the word.

Graphically there's an abism, and the real 3D playability is hands down better.
