Yeah, I know it was meant to be a city I just like to take the piss out of the game. It does sort of look like a PCB though. Probably another Retro Core SS on it's way next week. With the show only being 15 minutes long at most I can complete a whole episode in under 4 hours from playing the game to the final upload on to YouTube. The new PC helps a lot too with encoding speeds.
Retro Core 21 is up now on YouTube with the official site version (with fixed aspect ratio) being encoded right now. So that will be on-line tomorrow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ejlQdQIwDU yakumo
Word. Did you already do one about the ASCII grip, Hori Zerotech Racing controller or modem/keyboard/mouse peropherals? I for one would love to see the Floppy Drive in focus... (IIRC, the only two PAL games which had a save option for this were Sim City 2000 and Panzer Dragoon Saga.)
I don't have the ASCII Grip although I can buy one. May get it for a future show. My Floppy Drive is in storage but I don't have the PSU for it so it won't function anyway. Retro Core Volume 22 takes a look at that very expensive and rare brawler, Crows. The show is up on the official site for streaming and 1080p download - http://www.segagagadomain.com/RetroCorepage-main.htm YouTube version is up now but only in 480p I tried twice to upload the 1080p version but for some reason YouTube wouldn't process it. I have no idea why because it's just the same format that I always use. Oh well... The YouTube version is here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSp9PiiQdTI Yakumo
Wow, thanks, interested what your thoughts are on this game. I regret having sold off all of my 3MB, 4MB RAM & AR+ cartridges...I didn't know I needed one for this game... :/ I liked the movies though, that's why I picked it up...
Crows? I do Karous For Retrocade and then you do Crows...that has to be a concidence....has to be (must be they're two unrelated games with basically the same name)
Crows looks like something out of the Enterbrain Fighter maker engine. But I'm sure when it came out a few people were impressed by it. Some games age better than others. Look at Toshinden awesome then shit now. I tried to play URA a few weeks ago and it was just utter crap.
Nope, just like Tohshinden, Crows has always been shit. Tohshinden may looked nice but as a game to play it was always awful IMO. Yakumo
I'll have to play Crows myself Although I do find my self agreeing with you more times than not and the only times I've disagreed with you on anything are regarding Treasure games. Oh and the fact I think Karous is Milestone's best game
I'm impressed by how fast stuff downloads from your website. Also, how did you manage to make a 3D video of a Saturn game?
Yeah, I have a pretty fast host for my site. I've had up to 2.8mbps when I upload to it via FTP software. Ah, so did the 3D actually work? cool! My video capture card can do real 3D capture from a 3D source but can also change a 2D capture in to 3D. There are 4 options for the 3D. Split Screen (image side by side) Lattes (looks like crazy interlacing) which I used. Red and Green Cyan and err.... Some other colour. I didn't know what type of 3D to use to be honest so I went with the lattes option. Maybe Side by Side would be better? What format do most TVs like? I know games seem to opt for the Side by Side format. Yakumo
I have no idea if it worked or not, as I don't have any 3D displays (except for my 3DS). I just noticed the link on your site. In any case, I am amazed at how good the graphics in Burning Ranger were. It basically looks like a somewhat glitchy Dreamcast game. It makes me think it really could've been possible to make a good port of Virtua Fighter 3 for the Saturn. If Sonic Team could achieve graphics that good, AM2 probably could've done even better, given the same time frame (~1998). I really hope it sees the light of day, some day. Crows actually looks pretty cool as far as the art style, but I can see why it could be boring or frustrating to play.
Yeah, crows does look pretty good when watching the video. This is true. Just a shame it's so slow, controls badly and lacks any real fun.
On a related note, I still don't have Virtua Fighter Kids. I think that's actually the only console Virtua Fighter game I don't own, unless you count the CG portrait series (which aren't really "games") or the awful Genesis Virtua Fighter 2, which I've played and detested.
Virtua Fighter Kids is pretty good. Well, it's basically Virtua Fighter 2 with different character models and cutesy backgrounds and music. Yakumo
For whatever reason Virtua Fighter 2 is my Favorite of the series. And while we're still on the subject Beat em ups really don't Age all that well only the big 3 (Double Dragon, Final Fight and Streets Of Rage/Burning Knuckle) and River City Ransom really still hold up today. Although I still enjoy Rushing Beat
