Agreed. This would be a cool side piece for $20 I would think. I still own every system that it supports so I am good anyway. Still interesting to see such an "advanced" clone.
Hnmmm, my purpose of buying a decent clone console is to play the crap out of it while preserving my minty genesis and snes from wear and tear, such as the cart connecter. Well don't flame me!
Lets face it, it's a good idea. Play up to 4/5 systems on a single machine with original carts and controllers. It's ideal for people who have a lack of space/power outlets or money to pick up the original hardware. Of course the originals will be the best but for those who aren't able to enjoy each individual system, it's a good alternative. I wouldn't buy it personally but I can see it's appeal.
I own most of the original hardware i need. I still think it is fun with clones. At Least someone keeping the old technology alive.
I'm an original hardware purist too. I have a "man corner" in my study with 9 consoles set up on two switch boxes to a 21" CRT.. including all the ones that this thing supports... but hell, since it has HDMI, I'd still buy this thing for the living room.
in some cases this might be better than the originals as stated with the speed / overlocking features on the fly, games like r-type on the snes have major slowdown. also they have addressed the fx chip / cic lockout / region issues. famicoms are not really easy to come by where i am and even faulty ones tend to go for a harsh price on ebay. i'd maybe have this hooked up to a main tv or something via HDMI keep the original consoles for gaming on the CRT in my man cave would be great for quick bouts of streets of rage, MK and streetfighter with le crew now too sure why people are branding it as crap before its been released, also the software on this may be hackabe.
and That's ok by me This is the cranky old man gamer forum where the average age is over 30. OF COURSE THEY'RE GOING TO COMPLAIN and say it's crap. This thing for me is a godsend though. I need an NES/Famicom soultion and this is perfect. The addition of a Genesis and SNES sweetens the deal plus Full Gameboy support. Unless they really fuck up QA I don't see how this can suck.

True "Get Off My Lawn!" Gran Torino style lol, im not over 30 yet although getting there. i have my Grumpy Old Gamer moments too but i like to embrace anything that keeps retro gaming and games alive. i'll scrutinize when its released and/or i have one i currently like my RetroDuo i use it for NES and SNES (USA/PAL) and of course Super Fami im still going to RGB mod it when i get the time
I always prefer the genuine one but I'll give it a chance to prove itself when it come out. If it good the I'll buy it if gone like the other clones with the crap sound and the other issues then is a no go for me.
I am interested in this. I have several TVs, and I have some trouble lugging stuff around, plugging and unplugging, etc. This makes a nice secondary machine for the bedroom or for downstairs or to carry to parties. I still would have the preferrable original hardware for my big old Trinitrons, but to carry around and just plug and play, this thing is pretty. 70 dollars, also. Not bad. About the price of a new X360 game.
I almost bought a retroduo then I get news about this thing ALL plans to get original hardware are off. This thing will look sweet over a Wii U
It will be hardware emulation. 5 volt chips are not longer i production vs 3.3 volts ones, and voltage converters rise the manufacturing cost. The system is convenient to own, I saw footage of the console playing in HD and it didn't have any lag. i hope I can get a beta console
