Revival of Wii U? Hardware sale in the UK increase over 600% a single weekend

Nintendo isn't exactly hurting for more first party games. I expected that a new Kart and Smash Bros. would be out soon. My biggest beef is their lack of third party support. They make superior controllers and yet they can't seem to get more Bandai Namcos, Segas and the like. I had a blast playing Street Fighter II with a SNES controller. It's ridiculous that Nintendo isn't burning for a wider genre of titles outside of their own development studios.

This may change though, considering their sales are still hurting and as Kotaku says, they're going to make our dreams come true. They of all major companies actually bothered to release an adapter for a controller two systems ago.

 

Only reason why I'd play a Wii U is for Nintendo's games, not for 3rd party as they are not the best compared to other systems. Nintendo are just good working with themselves really, Wii U is a bit expensive for me at the moment as well.

It's good to hear they are moving systems though, I just think it was their marketing tactic that landed them in the situation.

I'm not getting into my usual Nintendo rants. At this point it seems redundant. But I was watching some interesting videos yesterday on the You Tube Channel, The Game Theorists That gave some interesting insight into the Wii U's problems. Essentially they've shot them selves in the foot by making it hard for 3rd parties to develop for them and they are blocking free promotion with their You Tube Policy if nobody wants to talk about the Wii U for fear of a Copyright Strike, they won't. Alot of games get good promotion on You Tube. For Example I had no idea what Binary Domain was until Metal Jesus Rocks talked about the game on his channel, I picked it up on his suggestion and Low and behold AWESOME GAME.

Say somebody wants to talk about how great the Wonderful 101 is? They might not beable to because of the fear of the Copyright Strike.

That's their two cents on it and I tend to agree.

I'll behonest I'm looking for a reason, ANY reason right now to give Nintendo another chance. But so far they aren't doing jack and shit to win me back. I remember the good old days with the NES and SNES but I fear those days are long LONG over and My Nintendo experiences will be through collecting games from the NES/Famicom up to the Gamecube.

I just want the girl.

 

Nintendo does not have a problem with people uploading gameplay vids of their games anymore, and I was going to argue further but seeing this:

Just makes you sound like one of those people who have an irrational loathing for modern games and put older ones in an untouchable pedestal.

 

How can you talk about the "good old days" when Nintendo literally forced companies not to make games for other systems (pretty much killing the Master System in Japan and North America) and then talk about how bad it is that Nintendo won't let people post videos?

Nintendo's licencing policies, while fairly justifiable in the wake of the crash of 1983, darn near killed the competitive industry.

 

Thank you. I've tried arguing with nostalgia blinded people, but its not common to get them to change their mind.

 

I owned a master system back in the day before I owned an NES. If you've seen my psycho ramblings Nintendo cock blocking 3rd parties is one of the reasons I hate the company. But you can hate a company and still love it's games. Some of my favorite games are F-Zero, and Kirby.
