    Well, I'd stick only with Break Dance and the subsequent games. Of course Touch me, Simon and Track and Field are not rhythm games. Rhythm games are based on MUSIC and SONGS, not button pressing.

    Well one thing is certain and that is that it was not one of the first games :)

    Beatmania was release before the dreamcast came out.

    Simon did have sounds to the lights. So that counts. If you knew the game good enough, you could go by the sounds alone.

    Break Dance IS simon. It's exactly the same gameplay, and it's no more about music than simon is.
