In my opinion the PS3 version looks worse. It's even funnier, when you remember that the PS3 game has to install 5GB on the HDD. EDITED: It installs 5GB, not 2GB
Errr...Looks to me like the PS3 is hooked up via COMPOSITE video, of course its going to look worse. TV Captures really arent the way to judge quality anyway.
Well the color saturation makes it look like this is a simple matter of composite video cables. Thats the color reduction you get. Either way this isnt a valid comparison
Im not so much into newer rr games, but is there really so little difference between 6 and 7 that you can compare the games ? Just slap in an additional track and call it 7 or something?
Ah, so it seems the move to 1080P came with some sacrifices XP Then again, this guys post makes the PS3 ver look like the bee's knees  http://forums.maxconsole.net/showpost.php?p=287336&postcount=5
After playing Ridge Racers and Ridge Racers 2 on PSP, RR5 on PS2 and RR6 on 360 and looking at video's of RR7 on PS3...they are all the SAME GAME. They change some menu's, add some cars, but really, it's the same game. I don't know how Namco gets away with it
Even if the PS3 version looks exactly like the X360, the X360 one was released 1 year ago. Wasn't Sony saying the Next-Gen would start with them? Ridge Racer Type 4 is the best. period. I haven't played RR6 or the PSP versions, but i agree on RRV. It sells because it's a fun game. Just like Mario being ported to every single Nintendo console.
The PS3 has (like every PS in every generation) the lower hand in graphics, since the RSX is nothing but a GF7950GT, while the R600 in the X360 is closer to the 8800. Is the mascot, so it gets to be in every console, like sonic or pacman
IF it was composit then you wouldn't see the jaggies that you see in the 360. You see them in both pictures. Take this for example: http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/rr7ps36.jpg Most likely, the PS3 version uses lower resolution textures, which accounts to the blurry textures in some pictures..
Interesting. Where'd you hear that, though? Surely there must be some difference from a standard GF7950GT.
Actually it's closer to a 7800 series and is derived from g70 archetecture. Really its just a PC GPU shoehorned into a console. And remember when sony said it was more powerful than two 6800, just think what sort of modern games you could run with that setup!:lol: The Xenon is similar in design to ATI's upcomming R600 archeitecture, think of it like that families grandfather-fewer shader pipelines and without some of the features(aka DX10). Of course it's still better tailored to the system than the RSX. Either way, both will be outclassed by the gf8800's and x2800's
That is completely fucking insane. How can Sony claim that their system is the most advanced when their GPU doesn't even match the 360's? People are spending $9000+ for a machine with processor speed marginally faster than a 360 and with a crappier GPU. Brilliant. By the way, does anybody know what that text in the screenshots says? Looks like Hangul.
crazy Ken is cursed it would seem. Even when his console releases after the rest.. he still doesnt get first place in graphics. Lost to XBOX? AGAIN? This should be amusing - I ll be deciding in about a year though about the true potential of the super amazing , long awaited, cock massaging, Ps3.
Now thats even worst, and about the Xenon, well it may not be DX10 per se but the Xbox was DX8 yet games had a lot of stuff (read: FXs) PC games only had when DX9 GPUs started to roll out. So I think the Xenon will have some stuff from its DX10 counterparts...
