soyandroid, Are you able to update your ID6 1.0 to v 1.2 without having access to an ALL.net account? I'm asking because I have ID6 1.2 and I'm currently looking to get ID7, but I'm worried that I won't be able to update it or would be stuck with ID6 1.0 if I were to revert back. Also, do you potentially have an ID6 disc or Ringedge DVD drive that you would be willing to sell? (I already have dongles)
Do you happen to have RingEdge with Project DIVA Arcade? If not, can it be dumped from another RingEdge? I have friends who has access to the cabinets. Anyway, I still need to buy a RingEdge. Cheers!
I would imagine a Ringedge with the newer Initial D games wouldn't be cheap. Does anyone know if it would work with Initial D 1-3 controls and the Sega JVS I/O Type 1? Also, speaking of card readers, does anyone know anything about the one used for Virtua Fighter 4 on Naomi 2? Is it different from the Initial D 1-3 readers? Just wondering because I wounldn't mind adding one to my setup at some point.
I have a RingEdge with Initial D7, for sale. Here is a link: http://www.neo-arcadia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=47952 Initial D7, can be played with Initial D1-D3 steering wheel and also JVS type 1 and or type 3 are ok. The only thing you need to change is the driver board, you need to change the Midi Board used by Naomi2, with a lindbergh serial driver board, in order to get Force Feeback from the steering wheel. About the card reader, for play games from ID4-ID8 you need the motorized card reader with printer, used by those games, i can supply you also one, but is not cheap... Sega price is 2800$, i still have 2 units for sale for around 550 Euros, each one.
Just wondering, do you know anything about the Virtua Fighter 4 Card reader? I have found almost no information about it other then it enables you to customize your characters. Also, System16.com has Initial D Stage 7 as Ringedge 2, is that site wrong and its really the original Ringedge? Also, any clue what Initial D Stage 8 Infinity runs on?
Initial D7 and D8, can both work on RingEdge and RingEdge2, the DVD allows to install the game on any of 2 systems. Here are two photos of he ID7 and ID8 DVDs from my collection:
Are there ringedge 2 games that will not install on the original? When installing a newer game like Initial D 8 does your ringedge need to be upgraded in anyway?
You can install ID6, ID7 or ID8 from the DVD directly on a RingEdge or RingEdge2, if you have the corresponding security keychip, you don't need to update anything, should work directly. Off course it needs a working 32Gbytes SSD installed and must be able to boot to the RingEdge Segaboot aplication, the one that shows the RingEdge logo, also the motherboard region must be Japanese.
So if the games work on Ringedge or Ringedge 2, What is the big difference between the two boards? Does a RingEdge 2 just come with better graphics hardware and more ram by default that would need to be added to the original or is it something different entirely?
RingEdge2 is different motherboard design, is a new PCB with an i3 processor and better graphics card. But those games can be installed on RignEdge or RingEdge2 direclty, they will work on both, but on RingEdge2 the game will get more FPS, than on normal RingEdge. Sega just redesigned motherboard to RingEdge2, because the chipset and cpu used on RingEdge was EOL (End of life) by Intel.
Hello dude i want to upgrade a Inititial D 6 to a newer version. Can you pm me?, obviously not free . Thank you.
Maybe this is a stupid question, but do ID magnetic cards actually have a limited read/write lifespan? Or does the game just artificially invalidate cards after a limited amount of plays just to get you to spend more money?
The cards used by the last versions of ID from 6 to 8 are not magnetic cards. They are 13.56MHZ RFID Cards compliant to ISO14443B, and uses Sony FeliCa Chips with 4KBytes memory and AES Encryption. They use a Rewritable Thermal printer for the draws and texts on top of the cards.
I want to show you two videos that i just uploaded to my youtube channel. Both are atraction mode, intros of Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Infinity V1.2+D Rev 7, running on a RingEdge2 motherboard, on my twin ID5 cabinets, (Now ID8 ) That is the latest updated and can be found only on online cabinets with server, conected to the All.net network in Japan. Outside Japan you can only find cabinets with V1.2+B that is an older version, now is more than 1 year old, without all the latest cars and newest hadling and tunning options.
Nice stuff man, I was able play Initial D Stage 7 at AnimeNext 2016 in Atlantic City NJ the beginning of June. Got to say, I like how the newer Initial D games handle, it kinda feels like a middle ground between the Naomi 2 and Lindbergh games. I was glad to see the Lindbergh games work with my Initial D 1-3 Arcade control panel with no problems too.
