Some sad news. I don't promote piracy but its sad to see that mega upload is gone. SOPA you bastard go die. we will give you Justin Beiber if you go hide in a hole http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-16642369
It was shut down using existing laws. Megaupload falls other sites will rise there are already 300 sites just like Megaupload. You can't shut all of them down. But alot of people are going to need to reupload stuff.
The internet is too big to police they keep going or eventually say FUCK IT and work on more important things Seems once a year a site or service is picked at random and attack as an "Example" then nothing else happens" It's a game idiots play.
Seems like Project velocity needs a re-upload. I seriously liked MU, no, not for illegal reasons, just because it was quite fast. Other than that, yet another filehoster killed in action.
The internet is too big to be policed. some will rise some will fall...but we all seem to eventually get fucked over if we're storing something on those sites... Invest in hard drives LOTS OF THEM!
Evidently the justice department site is under a DDoS attack.. It's not going to achieve much by annoy a few people, silly script kiddies. This is getting annoyed though, I used MU for hosting legit files and backups of stuff I needed to keep around. So many documents that I wrote.. Luckily I have them stored elsewhere though.
This is Megaupload's own fault they called too much attention to themselves If you run a file host site DO NOT get celebrity endorsements. Stay as underground as possible if you want to stay in existence.
This is how I feel. Aren't there hundreds of other issues much more important than shutting down file hosting sites?
I really think eventually they'll just give up even more so once the younger generations start climbing up the ladder.
Multiupload lets you upload things in multiple places it's what I used for Retrocade before I started uploading it to archive.org
Thanks, I'll look into it when I have some time, all the stuff I put in the file downloads section is gone (for now)...
Some serious shit is going down RIGHT NOW over this. Many government websites aswell as MPAA and RIAA are ddosed.
