I picked up a vista 32 I can run on my primary. My primary uses hot swap trays
    (thermaltake armor a6)

I'll resume today and I expect there to be no issues as I will be using
the same os and tools legit uses to great effect.

If that's the case then why not send the files to someone who can do it who can be trusted?

I don't have the files to send :p ASSEMbler appears to have sorted out his computer issues to run the tools on his demon machine so hopefully he will be more successful.

Surely someone can donate a good PC to Kevin? I know how it feels to go from a high end gaming PC to an early 2000 computer for a backup when a PSU or something blows. Tales forever to do anything.

I already offered him to make the selfboot (I think I'm trustable ...), but he seems to want to make it himself. Which is cool as no knowledge is lost and this experience could be useful for the next community releases.

    Cheers,

I have a good pc, problem is I use all 64bit os.

I tried to use a 32bot os laptop I had but for some reason it was problematic.

I cannot loan or give the files to anyone to convert due to accountability.
If the files leak, I have to refund to people who wanted a pressed disc.
    This would bankrupt the site.

Obviously this won't be the last proto we get so I have to learn this anyways.

I just finished ripping the nrg made on the new os install, I will try burning it now.

This is the second time I have made the disc.

    Disc2gdi ripped the files

I skipped the middle steps to get the sorttxt and dummy as we had done that before.

Dropped the dummy file in, ran the selfboot.

The disc is the same as the first one, the dreamcast will boot to the swirl, show a sega copyright logo and then reboot the system. It endlessly loops those two screens, the DC logo then the sega copyright.

    Ideas?

Copy protection not related to LBA. Or 1st_read.bin was hacked to a lba other than 45000.

    Try to change cde4 436a to 0900 0900 in 1st_read.bin (keep a backup).

This is also known: change 1032 00d8b to 0800 od8b

Did you make another without a dummy yet? It may make no difference whatsoever but nice to see what happens.

Can you try the original GD-R with a VGA box and see if it is supported?

It may also hate the forced hacking of the IP.BIN - they could be using slightly different methods to read/write than a standard GD and the hack fucked it - back up the original then write your own IP.BIN without the comedy long title, merely put Geist Force, recompile and see what happens.

The worst case scenario is if it all goes tits up you keep the original $700 and return the pressed cd extra and release the .bin/.gdi for emulator use.

EDIT: Internet Explorer 9 is pissing me off it won't let me go advanced edit so I have to DP and merge...

I took the liberty of writing you a new IP.BIN from scratch. Back up your original, drop this in there, recompile and see what happens (which could be no change but you never know)

Going with an emulation only release isn't really an option because many of us don't have a PC powerful enough to run DC Emulation. Plus emulation is not the smae as using real hardware.

As suggested by Ape, the best think would be a VNC or netMeeting :D
    Good luck anyway

I'd vote for letting Family Guy do the rip - he practically wrote the manual on how to rip gdroms... you couldn't be in better hands. Plus, it's not just the ripping part - he knows exactly how the disc should be best prepared so it won't mess up the laser.

Trustworthy? I don't know him personally but his guides (on a certain forum) have been essential to me over the last year. Would he leak it? I think his credentials and forum activity here suggests otherwise. Let's be honest, he'd have to be a raving lunatic to leak it... seriously. If anyone leaks the iso then loads of users here would be all over them like a rash so I don't see that happening.

    Hey, just my 2 cents.
