Looks pretty neat - what platform was it destined for?

Who knows? The video may be pre-rendered for all I know. As I understand the video has leaked with no information surrounding it.

It was a pitch that obviously wasn't picked up. One of the actual developers posted a version with sound on Youtube.

There's no video in the first post either but I'm guessing this is the video from the late 90s of what was pitched to be the Dreamcast Streets of The 4.

No. It's clearly a more recent thing than that.

Ah, I saw it now thanks to the link. Man, that looks good. I love the way the introduction panned out from an arcade game. Man, why do all planned follow ups to Bare Knuckle / Streets of Rage get cancelled :(

i assume this may be part of the reason the fan made "streets of rage remake" got taken down by sega

a new streets of rage would be excellent

Doubtful, since the pitch didnt go any further than being a pitch, so SEGA wouldn't have had any reason to.

prehaps its probably more for other reasons but it makes sense to take out a potential issue before you even get started on something

Sega dropped the ball with the SORR, they could of made a fuckton of money if they co-operated with the team and released it on XBLA/PSN, heck i would of bought it even if i downloaded V5

This looks 360/PS3 DL to me, especially the camera panning abilities.
    Pretty to say the least.

    Quote for fucking truth!
SORR was outstanding, better than any SOR game ever was, truely a product of sheer passion. :(

The final product wouldn't have transitioned well to 3D and then been slammed on the internet. Good thing it was never released.
