Have not been keeping up on this thread, but whats the ratio of bricked kits with 0020 instead of 0022
Source? I know a lot of people claiming their kits are bricked but about 70% of the people I talk to use it as a scare tactic.
If you're going to make the claim that members are lying, then you had best be prepared to name names and back up your claims. Trust is the only thing that a community has and if members are being dishonest, then that needs to be known. On the other hand, unsubstantiated claims of dishonesty also hurt the community. So if you can't back up the allegations, then don't make them public until you can. -hl718
So far the only people I confirmed bricked are Doom, Xenon.7 and one other member. I am not going to name, name's as this is not a concern at the moment. Kevin knows who these people are and I handle business with him and him only when it concerns other members. Kev is well aware of the happenings on this forum as I make him aware of it, if it becomes a problem Assembler himself will deal with it. This is on a need to know basis only. Also there have been a lot of misleading information on this forum that has been dealt with including the creator of the brick xex's being a respected and trusted member aswell as spreading scare tactics and no one has even noticed when the situation was dealt with. Unless its affecting other people and its not anything Kev himself can handle then I will disclose the information. As of right now I have been getting reports of bans now, no longer bricks. Not saying that bricks aren't still possible but it seems to be the least probable punishment as of right now.
If you want to handle things in private, then keep it private. If you're going to make accusations in public, then be prepared to back them up in public. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR SCENE DRAMA. Making allegations in public without backing them up only serves one purpose, to create drama. If you want to do that, go to X-S or 7S, but don't do it here. Keep the thread to the topic at hand and keep it technical. -hl718
Uh, lol. There was no XEX's or anything run on that reviewers kit when it got bricked :| I simply told me friend to get on pnet as I personally hadn't heard of any bricks either, I thought they were done and I figured he would be fine. Turns the kit on, makes a new online profile, goes online for the first time in two months, kit freezes, reboot ---> brick. Also, gabe was bricked when everything started, and then the dozens of chinese. I don't know why we're still trying to deny this things existence :X -Doom
Microsoft can execute any xex or hypervisor-privileged code downloaded through Xbox Live so this makes it really hard to track down the actual cause and they don't need to do it through an actual physical file. Anybody have any luck on reading the post bus output for the boot error code?
There are actually a few xex files that get downloaded from xbl to memory, and executed. It's part of the authing process when you sign into live. They can pretty much slip your console a xex to do w/e they want at any time and you would never know.
If I were purchasing a kit, I'd want verifcation that it could connect without issue, but that's just me. That said, I still wouldn't mess with it if you don't have any right to be there. All kits are owned by MS, so if you're somewhere you're not supposed to be you should expect to get smacked when it happens. -hl718
He stole Breach code during PAX. At least everyone says it was him. Never heard any real confirmation, but I believe it was him.
