Rumor: PartnerNet Bricking Kits?

Go my dev kit in the mail today, right before I had to go to work. Fooled around with it for about 10 minutes, looked around PartnerNet a bit and then shut it off. I get into work today and the guy who I bought the kit from shoots me this IM:

[16:15] : Theres something going on
[16:15] : MS is remotely bricking kits
[16:16] easycleanup210: How many people has this happened to?

[16:16] easycleanup210: What does the Xbox act like when this happens?

This seems incredibly strange to me, if true. I was curious as to whether or not anyone else had this happen to them, or had heard about it happening to anyone else.

Are you restoring through an SPI, since the console is RRoD? What kind of kit do you have?

 

An console with erased or corrupted CB will start up with 3 RED LIGHTS and an error code of either E08 (0020) or E10 (0022).

Whomever have a license/NDA can request service for the kits.

It's hard to tell who they're going after. I was on all weekend, plus a good 2-3 hours today and I'm fine. I initially thought they were banning anyone on MTW's friends list, since a few people in the US who were hit were on his friends list, but now idk. I dunno, that's what it says. Probably nothing to it. I'm just trying to share all the info I can right now.

 

If the efuse blowing hardware is active on devkits, all they need to do is blow a single bit on the first two lines to make the CPU useless...

And if the report of restoring the flash with SPI does not repair the issue is true, then the only thing they could possibly do top achieve an permanent result is blow efuses on the CPU.

Oh wait is this what I have been warning all you guys about that has been disregaurded? Odd it happens around the time PN becomes a threat. Like I said before if you fuck with Microsoft they fuck with us. I tried to keep everyone safe from this but now everyone is reaping what was sewn.

Stay off PN and keep outside networks from connecting to your dev. my team and I'll investigate bearkiller hit me up. Efuse blowing is possible on devkit's aswell.

 

i do not execute any games off the kit, so its not that
