San Francisco Rush PC

Does anyone have the actual 1998 PC version or know where it could be obtained? It is the best PC arcade racing i ever played at PC, but cannot find it anywhere. I have it for N64 and am trying to get an Arcade setup of it also. Such a great series... I grew up on that goodness.

 

From what I've found, there was never a PC version released. They say it was canceled. The game is supported in MAME but requires a pretty beefy CPU to run full speed.

 

Thank you for the reply MottZilla. I actually found MAME and SF Rush.. It runs really good on my Core2Duo E8500 @3.8 w/ 8GB of RAM, however the sounds lags a bit. ( I will ram another car and I will hear the sound 1-2 seconds later)

I heard once upon a time that someone had a PC version that worked... I may have been mistaken.

 

hmmm wasn't there some kind of Power VR demo of the game ?

 

I've searched for this off and on for a couple of years. From what I've found in the past, the PC version was released but only available as a bundle with one of the Voodoo graphics card... never released on its own.

Update: I'm sure this isn't what you're looking for, but, Rush: Alcatraz and Rush 2049 are both available for PC with Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition.

Ok, I have aquired Rush the Rock-Alcatraz Edition for the PC.

So for those who do not know, this game requires a Quantum3D Raven to play. (so it says when you try loading it with a non Raven card)



My quesiton then is there a way to trick my computer into thinking I have a Q3D Raven installed when really it might be a Voodoo 2/3/4/5 card (has to be Glide driven) or something like that? (modifying the driver file(s) possibly?)

If anyone would like to help me take on this project please let me know and we can work some magic.

I imagine that the game looks for a certain vendor ID and/or device ID. Just a guess.

We (with a big help from rottentreats) finally managed to break the protection.
The game runs fine with a VooDoo card or even with a Glide Wrapper.

We will share it here shortly.

I will make some more tonight This was using a glide emulator on my GTX 260's in SLI, and using an xbox360 controller.

As you can see/hear this game is a bit buggy at times.. that is the next step of thsi project. To make an unoffical patch.
