Hey all, just took my Saturn out from the cupboard and plugged in the Action Replay cartridge and it's not being picked up by the machine? I plugged in a back up memory card to check if the socket was alright and it's fine, then I cleaned the connectors on the Action Replay but nothing was happening... Am I missing a button config that I've just forgotten or is it peppered?

the Action Replay isn't that old, I got it new in 2005 and it's the one with ram and back up save ability and it's white if that helps narrow it down.

I've tried two Saturn consoles with it too.

It's a thing that's made in China, so the quality is crap. The problem might be the pins in the cartridge slot on your Saturns, or cleaning the Action replay with alcohol just isn't enough.

probably needs cleaned a bit more, had this with a megadrive cart i tested it, didnt work, tried again, didnt work, cleaned it with Q-Tips, tried again, didnt work... took a little fine grit sandpaper to the contacts, just a light careful rub on each side, and bingo worked.

try this as a last resort, but if you can take it apart and give it a proper clean pencil eraser may be enough just rub the contacts a bit, i dont know what's inside an action replay cart if there's a memory battery or what(i dont think there is but i may be wrong)

This is exactly what I did after cleaning pins and also bending the cart connector pins so they made good contact but nothing till I reflashed the cart using a utility cd with the AR bios. Although after the reflash I lost all codes and saves I notice Joker commands don't work like they should or used to (I hack Saturn codes).

Right, just an update guys. Thanks for all the suggestions ! I got it to work by getting a small bit of cardboard and wedging it between the cart slot and the Action Replay itself, now it works each and every time! I can go back to playing imports haha!
