    The Jap region free bios works on all consoles.

    Aww, that's too bad. I was looking to have my original PAL BIOS unlocked and with a little logic I have done so using the original and unlocked JAP BIOS' as a point of comparison. The issue I'm having is every BIOS claiming to be PAL says NTSC-C-V1.01a or is this something emulator related? Many thanks and great service!

    Managed to answer my own question about the PAL BIOS reading as NTSC, C just means the region SSF is set to. So I hear Bad_Ad84 that you install these BIOS' for a price? Also could you flash one for me with this region free PAL BIOS? I'm willing to pay the extra. :)

    All other bioses are in another thread. I was discussing with APE that it would be trivial to patch the other bioses and I would do it soon. He beat me to it and uploaded some.

    I also did the V saturn one sometime later (which has since been tested by another member).


    However, other than the startup sound - there is no reason to have the PAL bios... infact, the US/NTSC and EURO/PAL are identical if memory serves. Its just the jumpers on the motherboard that configure the region.

    Sorry for the noob question here, but I was just wondering what the patched BIOS does? Is it just switchless region free? Or does it enable backups to work too?

    Its a bios that has no region check.

    You do not need to solder to the region pads of the motherboard at all. Its switchless because nothing else needs to be done.

    Normal switchless mods still solder to the region pads and configure the region via a PIC chip and the reset button.

    Hey Bad_Ad84. I just received it, but i found out it has 4 extra legs than the normal saturn bios. Do you have some install pics so that i know wich side is the right one? Thanks.

    You were given more than a straight answer. All you had to say was that you still wanted the Pal bios, even though its untested (therefore, if you install it and it doesnt work - its not my issue) even after I had explained you there there is no reason other than startup sound.

    However, feel free to go elsewhere.
