Anyone have pictures or anything on this mahjongg cart? The carts do seem to have the ability to run boot code regardless of a CD in the drive or not (i.e. The AR's) so I wonder why they hadn't been utilised by pirate groups for the 'porting' of other games or the creation of new homebrew?
sakura taisen backup memory cart is nothing more than stock std backup memory cart with the sticker on. At least dokimeki cart is in green colour. hmm... interesting mahjong pirate cart? that sounds interesting although all my time of collecting Saturn stuff never come across one or even similar...
*ZANG!* I'm back for shizzle to help you tap dat ass well it is obvious that the Saturn can run code from the cart... like the 4-in-1's menu About the Mahjongg cart, one person came up with the claim once while this topic was being discussed on SegaXtreme, said he saw it in some Chinese pirate catalog. Haven't heard anything more though. And does anyone have pictures of the freeze card that assembler mentions in the Prifun area?
I've got a cartridge called "Memory Card PLUS" that allows other region games to be played and has a large bank of memory (quite a bit more than Sega's cartridge, but I don't recall how much exactly) which you can save to directly unlike most 3rd party memory carts. I actually got that at Toys'R'Us. The region defeater is not advertised. Thing is, I bought a second one on eBay, that looked to be exactly the same thing, but when I got it I found that it doesn't act as a region defeater, so that's pretty odd. Hey, I always thought it would be cool if you could play King of Fighters '95 with the Ultraman ROM cart or vice versa. Couldn't you just see Ryo and Iori battling out against a miniscule cityscape? ...word is bondage...
A Victor Saturn modem? What was that going to be used for ? Or was it just the V-Saturns own Sega modem ? Yakumo
Nice You really do have some good stuff HI_Ricky. I've noticed that your English seems to be getting better too. Yakumo
Hello everyone, this is my first post I've got a Saturn cart that has not been mentioned in this thread as of yet. It's not particularly interesting and I only really use it for playing imports on my PAL saturn: It is advertised on the box as a 13-in-1 I know that it is an import cart, a memory cart, 1MB, 4MB expansion and a cheat device but that only adds up to 5 in my book seen as though it's all in Japanese I cant read the rest.
AS IF! I wish I owned PDS. I don't see why it wouldn't work, though, as both functions of the cartridge havbe worked with every game I've tried them with. Or I suppose I should say that both functions work WHENEVER I CAN GET THE DAMN CART TO RECOGNIZE. Piece of crap Saturn cartridge port. ...word is bondage...
Panzer Dragoon Saga is a bit of an exception though, as it checks for certain cartridges and refuses to run with them inserted into the Saturn. However, you're lucky if you have an Action Replay (but your cart port is not) as you can enter an AR code to circumvent the check
the reason I asked was PDS checks whether th cart is direct save or not and refuses to run if not. Since your cart is direct save compatible AND import cart I was wondering whether PDS will run with it...
you mean the x-band modem without the paycard slot? wasn't its model # something like MN114?(?) something? I have one myself and always wondered what that is having no paycard slot unlike Sega one...
Very interesting, I was unaware of some of these carts. I have the Offical KoF 95 from the KoF Collection, Offical Sega 4mb from Marvel vs. Street Fighter, Offical Memory Cart from Tamagotchi and the Offical 1mb RAM Cart from Real Bout. I have seen the Prifun freeze cart for sale once on Ebay with extra paper and accessories, but unfortunately I missed the auction. :smt009 ^_^_^

You mean a modem and RAM expansion cart in one? Man, that would've lead to some interesting games if it ever came out...
